Heck no, I did not cover mine up. A person with a tattoo that is part of who they are and are proud of them and proud to show them.

all my tattos are in locations that i can cover if I wanted to and that will be covered in my wedding dress, I have a small one on my wrist but it wont be to noticable. I do agree that its not in my taste to have them showing while in an elegant dress, but thats just me. Many bees show off there tats

I only have one tattoo that will be visible so depending on how I feel about it when I try my gown on I may airbrush it for the day. It really nothing to do with me being proud of it or not, its more me being fashion conscious and debating how it effects the look I am going for and if it clashes too bad.

I only had 1 that was visible, and its only in a couple of dancing pics. A lot of our guests have tattoos, so it was common in the pics. I would never tell any of them to cover them up. All my BMs had tattoos as well

I have a tattoo on my shoulder/back that will be covered during the ceremony (because it’s chilly outside in late October), but will be on full display during the indoor reception. My tattoos are a part of me, and to try and pretend they aren’t there would be silly to me. I would look back at the pictures and find it more noticeable that the thing I’ve had for nine years is suddenly missing.

Yeah, it doesn’t exactly match the elegance of my dress, but it’s not like anyone there would be surprised to see it. There would be more comments about it’s absence then the presence.

you could only see one of mine but i showed it off proudly! its hard to hide in a strapless dress since its on my back but i love my tattoo – i got it with my brother right before he left for iraq a few years ago. i think its really pretty and looked fine with my wedding dress 🙂

i’m showing mine.  i’m planning new ink for my left shoulder that i’ll be getting next spring…usually i love dresses with cap sleeves the best and get bored with strapless gowns, but i’m actually tentatively planning on a strapless gown so i don’t cover up my new tat at all.  (i currently have three small-ish ones…inside of left forearm, left side of chest, and right between my shoulder blades.)

As a very general statement, I think when people get tattoos they usually mean something to that person important enough to be be with them forever.  My tattoo is really meaningful – I got it when my only sister passed away (it’s angel wings with her initials).  So for me personally it would dishonor my sis’s memory to cover it up.  A lot of people were really unhappy that I chose not to cover it, but I don’t think it took away from the elegance of my dress or was less classy?

I have a full back tattoo but cannot cover it up as it would take a TON of makeup and I wouldn’t want to ruin my dress. Although I’m a bit worried about my parents and their family and my FI’s grandparents possibly having heart attacks …. my family is really against tattoos. Although my older brother has a very visible arm sleeve that my parents dispise, I have been able to always keep mine hidden for the last 3 years just cause I didn’t want them to disown me. But now its come to the point where I have to figure out how or when to tell them… 🙁 While I love my tattoo, it was more meant for me, so I don’t normally show it off to the world unless I’m in a dress, tank top or at the beach.
