MedleyHoward2015:  Good decision. It’s your decision what to do about your own ink (personally I would lean towards not covering it). But it’s their decision what to do about their own. I agree with just trying on your dress and seeing if you like the visible tats and then see how you like it with a bolero. You could even do the bolero for the ceremony and formal pictures and then take it off for the reception and the partying!

I covered mine because I didn’t want the tattoos to be a distraction in my photos, especially to my parents who don’t like my tattoos.

I go my tattoos airbrushed covered last year for my cousin’s wedding. I have a very strict traditional Asian and Catholic family. So out of respect and not wanting to freak anyone out, I decided to cover mine. I’ll be doing the same for my wedding; however, I will not make my bridesmaids cover theirs. To each their own, I’d say. Hope this helps!

Thank you! I actually had to cover it twice . This makeup artist isn’t availble for my wedding day. I am scared that the new person isn’t going to do as great of a job. The test run failed and we will have to retry.

The 2nd picture was also done by the original artistist during our 1st trial run. I don’t have any good pictures of the new makeup artisit’s work. My wedding is in October and I will be wearing a stapless to insure the makeup doesn’t have friction with the fabric. I will be wearing my hair down with extensions and curled. I will aslo be wearing a Cathedral length veil for church. I am truly crossing my fingers.

MedleyHoward2015:  Don’t let anyone pressure you into covering yours. Unless you want to do it – don’t! Mine were very visible for our wedding and I didn’t feel any less elegant or “bridal.”

It depends on the look that YOU are going for. Don’t let anyone tell you what they think and allow that to sway how you look on your day. This is a very personal decision and people get their tattoos for various reasons. They are very personal and to a lot of people it becomes a large part of who they are/how they see themselves. If you want pictures without tattoos because that is what YOU want, then I would cover them. If you love and are proud of your tattoos and want them to show because that is what you want, then I would leave them out 🙂

I think this is completely up to the bride. I don’t have any tattoos so I am having my bridesmaids cover them but I’d imagine if I had my own my opinion might be different. Personally, I don’t want to see tattoos on a bride but I applaud the brides that are proud of their body art and show it off on their day!

I’m trying to find a dress to cover a large tattoo on my shoulder just because i don’t want it on show on my wedding day. But i don’t love it either i got it at 18. If i loved it i wouldn’t cover it! Its up to what you think is you. Some makeups do stay put really well but it needs to be a proper makeup for the job like dermablend, dermacolour, covermask, veil, keromask i think there are a few others. Once applied in thin layers and powdered its actually waterproof! So would not come off on the dress at all
