TB as in tuberculosis? If so, I wouldn’t worry about it, we used to get shots in high school and people would faint all over the place!

I’ve never fainted, but I don’t blame you! It’s really creepy how they inject the stuff under your skin!

I’ve never had a TB test, but I almost fainted from the flu shot, and did faint when I gave blood.

I haven’t gotten that, but I often get fainty while I’m giving blood… It’s totally natural, I wouldn’t worry about it. At least you can get them! I had a + PPD last year so now every year I need to have a chest xray done. No. Bueno.

Ugh, I hate TB tests.  I had to do it 2 times when I was hired by a hospital, I wasn’t even working IN the hospital or in contact with any patients EVER, but it was protocol!  I think it’s worse than getting a shot… it just creeps me out.  I didn’t faint but I did get very dizzy/nauseous (I’m sure from overthinking it).

I find it so creepy too, and I hate needles! I just tTy not to look and not to think about what’s happening… Luckily I haven’t had a reaction, which I think would be way worse than just the shot… Your arm can swell up like a balloon!

My job now has a policy that you have to get 3 TB tests done exactly 1-2 weeks apart, and you must pass all 3…or be terminated. So the TB shot I took 2 months ago? That no longer counts. After the 2nd shot, my arm swelled up! I told them I wasn’t comfortable doing the 3rd and would provide a chest x-ray…they’re good for 5yrs and you don’t need another one during that time unless you have flu-like symptoms!

Well they tried to fire me! I said…are you serious? I have other anaphalaxis allergies, why risk it? They said “Company Policy”. Sorry, I looked up the LAW chest x-ray wins…and insurance covered it without a co-pay 🙂

I always hated them though, they’re…weird!

I am terrible with needles of any kind.  The first time I fainted was during a finger prick.  I especially hated TB tests, I thought they hurt (even though the nurse kept assuring me it didn’t, to calm down, and it was just a tiny needle).  i actually had my last one turn up positive so now I have to get chest x-rays whenever I have them done.  So I don’t have TB but I don’t have to have that awful shot anymore (I would get extremely light headed and have to fight to keep from fainting).

Doesn’t bother me.  I have to have it done every year in October since I work in a hospital.

I had to get yearly tb tests when I worked at the hospital & as much as shots & bloods draws don’t bother me, tb test ALWAYS did! It’s b/c of how they’re done…. much more sensitive then a jab in the arm! lol

Yes, three times. I was so pissed. I already had 1 that year, but it didn’t count because because the 2nd didn’t follow 2 weeks later…ughhhhh!

@garden_bride:  I’ve had 4 TB skin test and it was easy. Shots don’t freak me out.
