Hey Bees,
Okay, so, I’m a bit lame. It’s been crazy times in the mittens household (and I left the numbers info at work!) so I PROMISE, I will post the week 1 winner first thing tomorrow!!!
In other news, we had donuts last night and sadly, they weren’t even good, but I ate two.. WHY? I need to repeat the REFUSE motto to myself more often I guess…
Have a great day ladies!

Donuts, does not sound as bad as Outback two nights in a row. Hoping to get to the gym a couple times this week. Tried on my dress and it was loose back in April, now it will barely button. Time to get serious, don’t want to be popping buttons. Hope everyone has a great day.

I feel like a bump right now. I have not been able to work out (or move really) for the last two days because I am in the process of moving from California to Wisconsin. Currently FH is driving us through Omaha. Anyways, I am concerned about what the scale is going to say when we arrive. I’m not working right now so I should be able to work out a bunch this week. I’m trying to eat healthy but it’s not always when you have limited food options in the middle of nowhere. Can’t wait to get out of this car!

Okay! Back at it!
A couple of Bees were wondering what a FitBit is… Mrs. Penguin did a post about it… http://www.weddingbee.com/2011/07/19/a-day-with-fitbit/
It took three days before I got it setup correctly. I have a Mac and I guess FitBit has been working hard to make the device work as seamlessly on a Mac as it does on a PC, but it’s not quite perfect. It was frustrating and I was ready to send the thing back yesterday when it finally starting synching correctly.
So now that it works right, I love it! The device is small and you can wear it any wear. You can clip the device on or there is a little holster that comes with it. I’m using the holster, it looks like I stepped out of 1995 and I’m wearing a pager, but I read that if you just clip the device, because it’s not flexible, overtime it will break.
It tracks the steps you take, the calories you’ve burn through the entire day, tracks miles you’ve walked and has a little flower that will ‘grow’ depending on how active you are. The website is easy to use, but there is no paper instruction manual, it’s all online. It kind felt like I was in the dark about how to actually use it, but after I found the manual, I’m good to go.
Okay, so the cons. One of the great things about this is the analytics and the sleep tracking that it does, well, you have to pay for that. $50 a year. Which, overtime, is what $4 a month? I think it’s worth it, but I didn’t read the fine print and now my $100 is $150.

Bees, I am in Florida for the week and away from my gym and routine. I am also staying with my grandparents who always want to feed me (and then last night told me I look good, but that me and one of my sisters have always had a weight problem). uhh! Anyway, I am stuck at 169, again, for the third week in a row, and hoping that I will finally get passed this plateau. This week’s challenges include: being away from home/routine/gym/trainer, having a lot of work, wedding stress, BUT, I’ve found a local juice bar, joined a gym down here for a week and told them I am not eating starch. Hopefully this will help! Why does it have to be soooo hard!!??

@Gia: Well, you’ve done a great job of keeping yourself on track!!! I’m impressed that you joined a gym just for the week! I think that sounds like success!!!

@Mrs.Mittens: Thanks Mittens! I actually went this morning and then again this evening. Its so hot down here, my grandparents cant really go out. Its a good escape from the house where I would no doubt occupy my time with TV & snacks! I just discovered Zumba. So awesome!!

Morning Ladies!
First full day at work with the FitBit…it really kept me motivated to get up and move more throughout the day. I have a desk job, so it’s hard for me to work and move around a lot, but I took every oppurtunity I could to either just stand up or walk around! And, it’s still syching perfectly!
Yesterday was birthday festivities and I pretty much ate what I wanted, and tonight Fiance is taking me out for dinner for my birthday with a bunch of friends and family, so I will try to make a healthy choice for dinner so that I can eat lots of cake!!
Have a great day Bees! I’m off to the dentist (who plans a dentist appointment on their birthday? me, because I’m silly!)

I went out for my first run this morning since moving and it kicked my booty. It felt good though. I am using a different scale now that I think reads about a pound heavier than my old scale. I did gain some weight from my two days stuck in a car but I think I should be able to get it off and then some. Gotta get on track and figure out my new workout schedule. FH wants to do p90x and I agreed but I think I want to do a running/Jillian Michaels combo. We will see.

A suggestion for this week’s challenge – 50 jumping jacks? That always gets my heart rate going!!
