I have yet to buy a wedding dress, but all the pictures I look at I really like tea-length wedding dresses. I don’t like long dresses. We’re doing a destination wedding at an antebellum plantation. When I talk about dresses or show dresses to family (future Mother-In-Law and sister in law) they comment “but is so short” or “you have to have a long dress”. Now they didn’t say it in a mean way. But who says a bride has to have a long poofy dress and look like Cinderella. I like simple classic short to tea length dresses.

Just tell them, “I prefer to do something a little more unique.”

I have a tea-length dress, so maybe I am a bit biased, but I think it’s a really great and unique look. Tell them you are channeling Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O if they question you. (and silently tell yourself that they are welcome to have their own weddings if they have that many opinions on the dress, but don’t say that out loud.) 🙂

Here is mine:
I am pairing it with a birdcage veil/fascinator and mustard yellow shoes.
