Yes. Here in NZ we have a different holiday schedule. We broke up for the year in late December (before Xmas) and we got married on 11th January, then went on honeymoon straight after. School went back for the year this past Monday and we returned from honeymoon the day before. It worked well!

I’m not a teacher, but my Fiance is and we definitely had to plan the wedding around his school schedule. He also has a summer job, but it’s much easier to take time off from that than teaching. So he’s not working the last two weeks of the summer job so we can go on our honeymoon and he can have 4 or 5 days just to relax before he has to go back to school.

Not quite the same as your plan, but I know my Fiance would definitely not want to go back to school just a couple days after the wedding.

Yep,wedding is in August for just that reason. School ends June 18. I’m taking my students on a trip to England June 20-29. Summer school starts July 2 and goes to August 7. I fly to Scotland that last day of summer school and get married the 12th. I have back at school on August 26th.  We probably would have gotten married 3-5 months earlier if we didn’t have to work around my school schedule.

My husband and I both work in schools but different districts so we had different breaks.  We ended up getting married during my spring break, taking a short honeymoon to Vegas afterwards during his spring break and then our real honeymoon in the summer when we were both off.  But I did do a lot of the actual planning (vendor meetings, touring venues, etc.) over other breaks, like Christmas and Thanksgiving.

I’m getting married in the middle of the Easter holidays, so I have the week before to get any last minute stuff done – and the week after to honeymoon!

YESSSS….I didnt want to get married in the summer but I also didnt want to a- spend a fortune to go on my honeymoon during winter or spring break or b- wait until the summer for my honeymoon.  I’m getting married the weekend after school lets out for the summer and I LOVE the idea that even when I get back from my week and a half lomg honeymoon that I will still be on vacation for 6 weeks.  Only bummer is it will prob be hot =(

Yes.  Although I wish I had thought about more than just my school’s schedule and my mom’s school’s schedule…one of my bridesmaids has to go back to work the next week, though just for end-of-year wrap up.  No kids.  We’re getting married June 22nd; our last day is June 6th. My mom’s last day is something in the teens of June.

We’ll either take a short honeymoon next winter break, or go to Europe next summer.  Like 2014 next summer.

And I am not going to be anything but Ms. Acid to my kids…I refuse to be Mrs. Hislastname…at least out loud.

Yup. Wedding in middle if summer break to allow for last minute preparations before and (ideally) a honeymoon afterwards. Quite likely that the honeymoon will be postponed a year or two, but that was the original plan!

@just_me:  That’s funny – by August 17th I’ll probably be back at school already!

I’m not teaching now, however, we planned around the school schedule assuming I would be teaching.  It still works out best because a lot of my guests are teachers and/or students.  Our wedding is the end of July.

My fiance and I are planning our destination wedding over March Break… Destination wedding! Have to do it in the winter and March Break is the only safe bet.

P.s. Could everyone help my fiance and I to win a free engagement shoot from Impressions by Annuj…

“Like” the page, and “like” our photo! It only takes a second of your time, but would mean a lifetime of memories for us!

Thanks ♥

Yes. I teach at the college level and I always teach extra classes in the summer (love that overtime!), so the wedding is scheduled two days after my last summer class, because it is two weeks until the start of the fall semester and we can have a nice honeymoon. I know my WB date says different, but we didn’t have a date picked out when I signed up for WB.

I am not a teacher but my Darling Husband is.  We planned our wedding during the school’s fall break (technically a conference weekend for teachers, but not mandatory).
