First of all Congrats! LTS positions will get you that full time job. I’ve had 4 and am going into my first full time position this year. I usually contact the teacher when I’m a LTS. They appreciate it and usually it will give you a feeling of where they’re coming from. a lot of teachers in our district also extend their leave towards the end of their expected leave…just a heads up.

Even though I would contact her you are the first teacher these kiddos will know and that def gives you some more freedom to plan and set up how you like. The teacher will appreciate e your time and effort and most likely won’t want to change a thing. It’s easy and FUN to spend a bunch on a new classroom, but I would try and utilize what she has there and save that $ for your own classroom soon! I only say that because I’ve learned from experience lol 🙂

You also should have plenty of tIme to set up and such. I got hired 3 weeks ago, was only able to get in my classroom a week ago, and we start on August 26th and feel like I’m in a good place. Have fun and congrats again!
