I am getting married March 2013 on the last weekend of Spring Break and then we are waiting to take our honeymoon the week I am finished teaching for the summer. It would be too difficult to take enough time off for a honeymoon during the school year (for me at least).

At the time we set our date, my Fiance and I were both teaching. He since was laid off due to budget cuts. But we chose a summer wedding for the obvious reasons.

A friend of my FI’s got married last fall and his wife is a teacher. They waited until spring break to go on thier honeymoon. We actually went out with them a few weeks ago and the bride had told me that she didn’t feel as though it was a honeymoon because it was so long after their wedding.

I could also only imagine how difficult it would be to get married on the weekend and have to be back at school on a Monday. It may also be different if you and your Fiance don’t live together. Me and my Fiance do not. We just signed our lease yesterday so we have all month to move in. I could not imagine tryingto move in to a new place, do the finishing touches on the wedding and still be in full teacher mode at the same time.

Regardless of whatever date you 2 choose, it will be a great time! Good luck!

I will get married in July for this reason. And we are having an outdoor wedding in FL. So your choice with weather.

What about a Spring Break wedding? Then you have time for a honeymoon. And it is the time of year you wanted.

You just have to do this and plan around it. We are doing a wednesday wedding due to new work schedules and starting a new job and moving to a new city.
