Gift cards are great. I love homemade cards or baked goods from home. Any sweet gesture or token goes a long way.

Starbucks gift cards are MUCH appreciated!!!!

I’ve also gotten chapstick that I use all the time, a plant for my windowsill/desk, hand creme for my desk, and a card with a meaningful note–all a few of my faves.

I don’t like cookies because I am allergic to dairy so they end up in the trash plus you get a million and they won’t be taken to heart/remembered as much.

BUT in all honestly anything is appreciated!!! It’s such a sweet thought and shows the teacher that you think of them even when you’re not at school.  Getting up everyday to teach 100 kids is difficult and hard to find the motivation, but knowing that you’re being thought of and appreciated makes it all worth it.

As teacher I get chocolates, cookies, perfume, cards, body cream, hand cream etc ..

And I love it all, but what I really love is the hand made cards, honestly, it always makes me cry and I do keep them for a very long time.

I still have a little note from a 4 year old from her notebook, it is mostly doodles but I just love it. ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜˜

I like gift cards – starbucks, target, amazon are all great. I love sweet treats – homemade or just some yummy chocolate. I’ve gotten way too many cheap travel cups, glove/scarf sets, etc. – it’s appreciated, but the cups especially just end up in the trash. I do like nice socks though!

I’m not a teacher but I work with children at an after school program. I like a gift card to somewhere like Starbucks or Target. A lot of parents give homemade goodies like cookies or fudge which is sweet but I’m usually wary of eating things when I don’t know how hygienic their kitchen is.

I stock up on school supplies when they are on sale, then give the kids’ teachers a large bucket full of pencils, pens, paper, glue sticks, markers etc. Too many teachers use their own money to provide supplies for kids whose parents cannot afford to supply their own. I add a small coffee card for the teacher in the bow.

bridetobeonjune3 :  Any gift is honestly appreciated but any homemade or handwritten card is the best! I’m also partial to gift cards over any other gifts.

Definitely gift cards! We spend so much money on our classroom through out the year. We don’t get to treat ourselves very often. Also, avoid homemade food. A lot of teachers worry about eating it because they don’t know the ingredients and might have allergies.

I also like ornaments to put on my tree at home. Love to see names of former students through the years.

I’m a high school teacher so I don’t generally get gifts but my friend that teaches elementary loves Target and Amazon gift cards.
