yeah that title is true. i dont usually do this but as a mother to a little boy this sickens me that this could happen to ANY child let alone children with disabilities who cannot say anything to tell what is being done to them. the fact that only one of these “teachers” was fired and no charges pressed is sickening. i dont usually do this but im calling on ANYONE who thinks this is utterly wrong to watch this video and sign this petition. this should never never never be allowed to remain quiet.

Thanks for sharing! I signed the petition and passed it along on my facebook! This is definitely something that needs to happen. It’s always made me sick to see special needs children treated poorly in school.

As a teacher, my worry is what about the falsly accused? I have met a few teachers who were falsly accused of a variety of offences, and if they were immediately fired, then re-hired when it was revealed the child was telling tales….
ETA: NOT saying that this is the case here at all. Just my thoughts in general. Right now there is a system in place that puts teachers through a tribunal for all accusations from bullying to sexual abuse to drinking with underage.

As a special ed teacher this makes me sick to my stomach!!!

How sad. I wish the school districts would get more money to actually PAY teachers well, so that they could be pickier and hire people who really care about teaching, kids, and special ed rather than these idiots. That way there is a long list of people who would kill her have her job, rather than just move her around.

What people need to realize is these children are gifts to us. Autism doesn’t mean they can’t do anything… My nephew Jacob is the perfect example of why we need folks with Autism, to see things we don’t see… Here’s a video of my Autistic nephew doing a TED talk.

@takemyhand: i think his idea should be put into place because he has solid proof of what is happening and it seems like the school would like to keep it hush hush and sweep the whole thing under the rug. The guy could sue the bricks off the school if he wanted. im very suprised charges are not being pressed

I heard and read about this story yesterday…our local radio station even talked about it….such a great thing for the father to stand up for his son….my niece used to work w/ autistic children at all different levels and she was fabulous….she left because of the beauracracy in the school and the fact that she was the only one lobbying for these kids….it became too much…the fact that this teacher did this sickens me….again Kudos to the father for bringing it to light.
