What about using a bell?  We tried and failed at it….but it might work for you.  Put some bells on a string where she can bat at it.  Then make sure you ring the bells each time she goes.  Hopefully she will learn to make the bells make noise.  It sounds tough, but apparently works for some dogs (according to our trainer).

Our dog did this for awhile and my theory was that he was tryng to hold it until we would take him out. We just made sure we got up at the same time and took him out before it was a question and eventually he started waiting at the door again. He waits at the door or comes to us and gives us “paw” if he needs to go. Also he has gotten older and can now make it all night without having to go to the bathroom. He will even lay around in the morning and not ask to go even if he has to. Not sure why maybe he is lazy too lol but we just make it a point to take him out as soon as we wake up.

We bell train. It takes a bit and requires putting yummy PB on the bell, but it works! 8 months is really really young and it takes time. Your puppy is still a baby until she is at least 1, so keep that in mind when you get frustrated. Huskies are so smart! It may take a while but in the end you will all be happy.

I kept my dogs in the room with my so that they had to wake me up to get out. And at least I could hear them when they woke up. Is there any way you can keep her some place that you will hear her when she wakes up?
