I need help ladies! Getting married next fall 2013 and as I am pretty ocd about my organization, I have the entire wedding planned out – Rustic Fall. Pumpkins, Mums, Grapevine -very country. I’ve even purchased the centerpieces and flowers(silk & dried) already. But then last night… I found my wedding shoes. An incredible shade of deep teal! I had already decided to have a pop of color for my shoes and I was planning to have them match the bridal party. Their dresses were supposed to be eggplant. But then I found THE dress for my Maid/Matron of Honor and it’s teal and not at all country!!! It’s got gemstones and is very chic.
#1 – How can I convice my Dear Fiance that the wedding decor he just agreed to last month is now going to be something else?
#2 – Is there anyone who has done a wedding in the fall and used purple & teal? Do you have any pics?
I can’t seem to wrap my brain around trying to incorporate things we already agreed upon (hoping he’ll conceed a little to the new plan ๐ ) and these new incredible jewel tones.
Help ๐

Hmm…my first instinct is, why can’t teal and purple be country? Surely there’s some way you can spin teal and purple as country for your Fiance…and…maybe he won’t even notice…I love that color palette btw!
Do you have inspiration boards and photos you can show him?

I would just tell your fiance you really fell in love with the purple and teal colors but add them into your country theme; I definitely think the bright colors will be great with and an unexpected riff on the rustic/fall/country theme (which I love, but could always use a new twist!).
I couldn’t find much for picture inspiration, but I do love the idea of using the teal/bluish mason jars with simple purple flowers in them:

My wedding is 11/2/13 and we are having eggplant purple and dark teal as our colors (and a charcoal gray as an accent). I think you can make those colors whatever you want them to be ๐

my colors for my November wedding are purple and lavender, too late to change now, but if I had to choose again, it would be purple and teal. So I think it will work great.

My wedding is next fall as well .. 10/11/13. I originally wanted just purple as my color – but two different shades of purple .. i keep finding dresses I love but that don’t offer complimentary lighter and darker versions of purple. I am now thinking of dark teal and adding in purple accents .. I am having a little trouble convincing my fiance that it is fall like .. but our other option was browns and I think it’s just too cliche for fall and not at all me ..

- Wedding: October 2012 - Prairie Production- Chicago (loft)
My wedding is Saturday and we have deep purple and black… its the weekend before Halloween so I saw it appropriate. We are going modern… so If you are doing the purple teal…try to use it in the flowers, linens, and dresses… then you can still go country with all the other details.

Our wedding is 9/14/2013 and we are doing turquoise with accents of purple. We are having our ceremony & reception at a ranch. It is possible! ๐
