Okay so technically it is still QUITE early to be selecting the Bridal Party but why not start now? I’ve seen waaaaay too many movies where the bridesmaids turn out to be one hell of a disaster and I KNEW that that is not something that I was going to allow to happen at our wedding. Yeah yeah, I know…I’ve seen too many movies but HEY, they have those reality shows too and some of the girls on there are….*insert many unkind words here* ANYWAY, for the most part, I knew the girls that I wanted to have standing up there with me as I take this giant but AMAZING step in my life. I knew automatically who my Maid of Honor was going to be and I knew who I wanted to elect as bridesmaids BUT I still needed to fill two spaces and I didn’t want to select just ANYONE.
So far I had my Maid/Matron of Honor, and two of my bridesmaids selected. Including the Best Man, Fiance is having five of his boys standing up there with him so I needed two more spaces to fill.
After careful speculation and skimming over my address book and my Facebook, I decided to have my cousin as a bridesmaid because even though we were never EXTREMLY close, she is family and we have never had any problems and have always been super friendly with one another. The lack of closeness is due to lack of time and the fact that she goes to school in San Fransisco and I’m in Hollywood. ANYWAY, she was more than happy to accept her invitation to be a bridesmaid and I am more than happy to have her up there with me.
That left me with one more space to fill and for me that was a no brainer. I decided that my last and final bridesmaid was going to be a girl that I’ve known since we were 13 years old. We met and my grandmothers Russian school in dance class and have never looked back. She is one of the sweetest girls and I know and I can easily call her one of my very best friends. When we see each other, time seems to fly and we just keep talking and talking and talking. We are so alike in so many different ways so I knew that I wanted her standing up there with me. Her reaction when I asked her to be a bridesmaid was heart warming. She cried and then I cried and we both had a good cry. It was spectacular.
So there you having it my fellow Bees. I now have TEAM BRIDE ready to go! I must say that I am proud of myself for selecting such wonderful girls to stand up there next to me on my special day. I can sleep soundly knowing that when they all meet this summer, neither of them will cause problems. Yes of course I know that there will be little tiffs here and there, but for the most part they’re all such wonderful girls and I feel honored to have them with me.
What about you?
