LoLo0113: I’m thinking of doing the same thing, but opposite! We found out we’re having a boy at my 20 week anatomy scan – I totally wanted to know the sex, but Darling Husband had kinda wanted to be surprised. All of our big items and about half of the clothes we’re getting are gender neutral, so I’m think maybe next time we’ll be team green next time if Darling Husband wants. My brother and SIL found out for their first 2 kids (a girl then a boy), but they were team green for their 3rd.
It think it’d be really easy to not find out the sex of the baby. At the anatomy scan, our ultrasound tech asked us if we wanted to know before she looked. I’m 33 weeks now, and that was the last ultrasound I had since everything’s been going pretty smoothly.

There are way more options for gender neutral items than just green or yellow. I have a little stash of ‘one day’ clothes that are mostly white, grey, blue, orange, purple, and cool black and white geometric prints.
We plan on being Team Green eventually mostly so we would avoid too much pale pink and pale blue in the gifts we would receive – we like all colours on babies!

Totally possible. My OB’s office knew we were team green, and because we gave a heads up at the anatomy scan, the gender was blacked out on the report they received afterwards, so my doctors didn’t even know/couldn’t possibly slip up. Just make sure to remind the techs at your ultrasound appointments-they were the only ones who ever knew.

howdoyoudo: Here’s the secret to being Team Green. The minute your baby is born, you can go out and buy all of the gender themed clothes and accessories you want. Literally, within 2 days of my son being born, my whole house was filled with blue/sports/trucks from family and friends who were itching to buy things for him.
I still got to enjoy the surprise, but he didn’t miss out on anything gender related.

I’m not pregnant nor planning to be for a while! But I know I’ll want to wait to find out. There’s really only a 50/50 chance after all! And as for this ‘oh how will you plan’ er, even if I knew it was a girl, say, does that mean I want my house to turn into a pink explosion? I’d rather have neutral colours. (I used to love my jungle wallpaper at home).

I think the techs are good at making sure they hide it if you don’t want to know. However our son decided to completely show off “his stuff” at our second scan and it was literally very clear all over the screen lol! Though we had decided that we wanted to know so not sure if they would have made more of an effort to hide it if we hadn’t.
