@Jenn23:  The tech for our 20 wk scan asked us before she started if we wanted to know. Our midwife said it’s not writted down in her file, because she doesn’t like to know either (so she won’t slip and tell us). I assume it’s written down somewhere, but no where we’re likely to accidentally encounter it.

Love all the nursery ideas! Sounds like a lot more blue and red than yellow and green!

@Jenn23:  I love that theme! I think there was a post on Apartment Therapy today with some pictures. There was one with the most adorable whale above the crib. Love it!

@Ree723:  Aww Peter Rabbit! We are not sure if we will have a nursery or keep the baby in the room with us so I probably won’t have much for decoration at first either ๐Ÿ™

@rlfs0510:  Thanks! I was feeling pretty great until I woke up with a fever yesterday! =( feeling better today but still hoping baby holds off a few more days so I can completely recoup! My MW doesn’t want to have me relapse IN or right after labor. 1st task get 100% better THEN have an awesome birthing experience! =)

@Bao:  I was going back and forth with the decision to stay team green but I have decided to stay team green. It is really important to DH so I’m going to stay strong and stay team green.

@MarryMeTiffany:   Yay!  I think once you get past the 20 week ultrasound, it’s so much easier to stay firm in the decision to remain Team Green.

@Bao:    I’m still staying strong here.  I just hit 33 weeks today so only seven weeks to go until we find out if this little one is a boy or a girl!   At one of my recent appointments, I asked my midwife if the gender was written down in the file as I was worried about someone slipping up and telling us the gender, but she said that it’s not.  Apparently the techs will only tell the parents if they specifically ask, otherwise, they don’t make any note of it as it’s not medically relevant to the health of the baby or mother.  That makes me feel a lot better!  And unless there are any concerns, we won’t have any more scans before this little one arrives so hopefully we’re in the clear for a surprise!   How are you doing?  How far along are you now?

This team green Mommy had a baby boy! His name is Sawyer Emerson, and he was born a week ago, on April 25th by emergency c-section.

@Bao:  I am 16w 3d my anatomy scan is June 4th. Our doc said the gender will not be written anywhere to make sure we don’t find out.

@Bao: I was induced at 38 weeks 4 days because my pregnancy induced hypertension was causing decreased blood flow to Sawyer. When I started contracting, his heart rate plummeted and was hard to get back to baseline, so we required an emergency c-section for his safety.

We were team green, but I knew we were having a girl for 2 reasons. First, I saw the potty shot on our ultrasound, so be careful! I wanted to know deep down (DH didn’t), so I didn’t look away when she put the wand on, and it was the VERY FIRST thing we saw. She immediately asked if we wanted to know, and we said no, so she moved the wand and didn’t say anything. I’d advise those of you that really don’t want to know to not look until your tech says the coast is clear. I was 85% sure I’d seen girl parts not boy parts, but of course I couldn’t be absolutely positive. Then, 3 days before LO was born, we were in the hospital because of decreased fetal movement and the US tech specifically knew we didn’t know, and told me to look away when she checked out the thighs, etc. However, then a few minutes later she said “So what name do you have for a girl?” My heart started racing and I couldn’t believe she even just asked that, knowing we didn’t know! I told her, and then there was a weird pause and she asked “And for a boy?” But it seemed so obvious to me that it was a girl and she’d ruined it. Of course, we still didn’t know for sure, but when I had the baby 3 days later, I was like “I can NOT believe that tech was so obvious. She completely gave it away!” Anyway, be careful ladies!! Tell those techs not to say one word!
