Hiya…I’ve been thinking of setting out a basket of handkerchiefs instead of the little packets of tissues. I’ve found a site where I can buy white cotton handkerchiefsin bulk for about the same or less than making tissue packets (I’m doing almost everything DIY and I don’t want to add another project! 😉 The only thing I’ll do is iron them into a triangle shape and stamp a silver heart onto the point). For those of you that did a Tears of Joy basket, how many did you make? Did you make one per guest? Also, did anyone put a poem with their Tears of Joys?

@hilarycole: I don’t have any experience, but as a guest I would DIE with JOY for a real handkercheif!

@BrandNewBride: That’s how I feel too! haha I figure I’m doing away with a lot of littlel things that I thought I’d have to have but this is just one little detail that I think will really make the day special.

@hilarycole: No experience here either, but that sounds that a great idea!

Post #147on “what do you regret buying?” http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/tell-me-bees-what-did-you-spend-money-on-that-was-a-waste-at-your-wedding/page/4#post-6465438 recommends not having them at all. BUT if you know that your guests are cryers and make sure that someone knows to hand them out, I think it would work.

@sayanything: I know, right? 🙂 heehee
@Everdeen: Every person I tell about the wedding and share the song I’ll be walking down the aisle to has said “and this is where I’ll start crying”…so I think they’ll be used for the most part. I’m thinking of putting them in baskets behind the last row of seats as well as by the guest book. If they’re not used, I know I’ll use them for something.
I just don’t know if I should have enough for each (female) guest or just half.
