Oooh, I’m curious about this too.  I DO drink coffee and red wine, so I’m interested to hear if anyone has any inexpensive but safe suggestions 🙂

These ones:

http://www.3dwhite.com/crest-products/3D-white-whitestrips-professional-effects.aspx

I drink like 6 black coffees a day, and red wine, and used to chain smoke. My teeth are whiter than anyone I’ve ever met. I have had mine laser whitened in the past, but I did 2 boxes in a row of the ones I linked, and my teeth are extremely white. (One will do the trick, I tend to go overboard with teeth whitening..)

ETA: This is a cellphone picture, it’s not edited or anything in the least. My Fiance is on the left, he doesn’t smoke, never drinks coffee, and hates red wine. My teeth are way whiter than this, and he’s sooo OCD about his oral hygiene.

I have my Fiance doing crest whitestrips right now (cuz I have braces and can’t do it yet 🙁 …) and after 7 days he is noticeably whiter. He has never whitened before and he drinks like 6+ cups of coffee every day. I have done generic target whitestrips and they’ve worked great for me. I would suggest sticking to crest for the best results. Some off brands have made my gums burn & turn white. I’m going to try the 2 hour crest whitestrips soon 🙂

I’ve read that this works just as well:

Take a q-tip and dip it into hyrdrogen peroxide.  Rub onto your teeth 30 seconds before brushing your teeth.  Do this each night until your teeth are as white as you want them.

But I also love crest whitestrips, I just had to stop using them because they reallllly irritated my gums.

Another thing that works well is Rembrant Whitening Rinse

The two hour strips do work well FWIW, but if you want reallllly good results, I definitely reccomend the link I posted before. 2 hour ones are great for people who have never whitened, because you do notice a difference. But if your teeth are reasonably white already, I find it’s a very minimal difference.

I just use the generic crest whitening strips, the ones that take 2 weeks. They’re a lot cheaper and they show the exact same results just in a longer amount of time!

I’ve used Opalescence which is offered at the dentist’s office but you can find them on Amazon/online much cheaper.  And, it does work.  I would be very careful with % of peroxide because it could leave your teeth very sensitive.  Oh, definitely brush your teeth with Sensodyne a week before you start to try to prevent sensitivity.

@the_future_mrs:  Wow your teeth are very white! You’ve convinced me!  I’m trying this for sure.  Thanks!

I just started the Crest 3D Professional Effects one last night! No sensitivity or anything like that so far, although it says it’ll take 3 days to start seeing results.

I have really white teeth and get complimented on them all of the time. Even the dentist’s technician commented while she was doing my regular cleaning on how white they are. Little do they know I use crest white stips for the last 10 years. At first we used their basic ones that are like $25 but now Fiance and I use Crest White strips Advance Seal and they are amazing!!! They are about $40 and even dentist recommend them. You should give them a try.

@gsu02olliff:  If you find yourself short on time Crest also has a verion where you wear it for 2 hours and then you are done. I am trying them out tonight as a last minute touch up before my wedding on Friday.

I typically use the Professional Crest strips (as the PP discussed) every six months and they are awesome.
