Hi!! Whitening strips will work – they just take longer to get the results you want, as the whitening agent is a lower % than the product you would get from your dentist.
I never recommend using peroxide – as it is known to be a cancer causing agent and will damage the soft tissue.
I also always recommend to have a professional cleaning right before you begin whitening. You will get the best results.
Always remember to avoid food & drinks that will stain your teeth during the whitening treatment – avoid tea, coffee, red wine — drink thru a straw, if you can’t go without!!
Also remember that teeth with fillings, crowns & bridges will NOT whiten!

Good luck!

A lot of whitening toothpastes work because they are abrasive and they scratch off the stained external enamel layer to reveal the whiter layer underneath. This is obviously really bad for your teeth! Activated charcoal works the same way, so I really don’t recommend it if you want to keep your enamel intact. I have used white strips a few times and it does work. The effects are somewhat subtle– you don’t get model-white teeth– but I’m always happy with them. I’m planning to use them before my wedding this summer.
