What type of whitening are you thinking of doing?  My mom is a dental hygenist and she says the ZOOM whitening can dry your teeth out, and leave them very sensitive afterwards.  If you want to do it, make sure to use a floride mouthwash and sensodyne toothpaste for a couple weeks before and after getting it done to ensure you don’t hurt afterwards.

Regardless of if you use ZOOM, bleaching trays, or whitening strips, you should start it about 2-3 weeks before your event, and make sure you avoid things that stain your teeth after it’s done.  (But it’s not like if you have one cup of coffee a day, that it’ll ruin what you did)

I use bleaching trays from my MIL’s orthodontist office…about 4 trays and I’m good! I hate drinking coffee with a straw, though =. I do it like, twice a year. The results are always good.

I’ve never had my teeth professionally whitened by a dentist, but I have used the Crest Whitestrips and had great results, however, I didn’t follow the instructions to a T.

The whitestrips made my teeth sensitive so I would only use 1 a day or every other day. The box was supposed to last 2 weeks but I made it last a month and a half.

I did because my enamel pretty much came off with my braces……..at the age of 31!  Hurt like a mutha!!!!  Did pre-treatment floride treatments, etc.  My teeth hurt BAD!!  But my teeth are an issue all in their own.

I tried bleaching trays from my dentist and they made my teeth look kind of spotty/uneven–some parts were super white, others still the old (not too far from white) color. So I quit, plus I kept leaving them in too long and would get shooting pain in my teeth. And my teeth are pretty white, I just thought it would be fun to have them super white! But not anymore.

I’m definitely interested in what people have to say about this one as well.  We’re not having it professionally done, but definitely doing it on our own (over the counter).  I’d rather buy something that doesn’t kill my teeth lol

My husband and I did Zoom a week or 2 before the wedding.

OMG it hurt so bad.  But my teeth looked awesome afterwards.

I just started using a professional whitening kit from my dentist.  I’ve only done it twice so far, (Tuesday and Thursday) and they are quite white enough yet.  I just realized I should probably be drinking my coffee through a straw.  OOPS.
