I just arrived to my first base after basic training. I knew i wanted a tattoo. My first roommate and I went downtown and found a tattoo parlor and got them. I got my first tat on my left shoulder. It’s a rose — pretty basic. it hurt – but it was bearable pain. I now have 4…think I’m done.

My first tattoo was on my foot, it was pretty painful but my thigh/hip was much more painful. Where are you getting it? That will determine the pain factor. I wouldn’t worry too much about it tho. It isn’t horrible and it’s obviously doable or no one would get more then one! Good luck! 🙂

I have one on my lower back that I put there to cover up a raised, but clear burn/scar that I got from leaning against one of those old radiators when I was a little kid. It isn’t big or discolored, but I didn’t like that I could feel it if I were to touch my lower back and if I got tan, it would be lighter than the rest of my body.
Because it was done over a scar it hurt a bit more than a regular tattoo and because I had to sit down leaning forward, I fainted. The pain wasn’t too bad, but holding my breath and the nerves got to me and about 20 minutes into it, they had to stop for about another 20 minutes and gave me juice and candy. LOL. I felt like such a wuss.
