I am very curious. I don’t think an IUD is the way to go for me, additionally I dont’ think my doctor would give me an IUD. I am very interested in Implanon, and am eager to get off the pill. I dont’ trust patches, and am also wary of the shot.

Well, implanon is very similar to the shot– so what makes you wary of it?
Implanon is good for 3 years, and the cost is dependant on your insurance. Weight gain is a common side effect, but so it little or no cycles.
Have you considered the Nuva Ring? I’ve had great success with that, but am planning to switch to Implanon after we are done with pregnancies (we want to ttc too soon to make Implanon cost effective now).

@juliette.eliza: The only reason I’m wary of the shot–and NuvaRing to be honest–is that I have actual friends who have not had good experiences on either of those. I don’t know anyone personally who is on Implanon (not that I know any of you bees personally either, but you know!!) and I am always kinda hesitant to rely on google results of “implanon reviews”. I have googled reviews of my current BC and they are awful…but this pill works for me so i always take them with a grain of salt.
