We are considering trading in our minivan for a suv or crossover. We are past the baby stage and just looking for something a bit more…non minivan like. We want a 7 passenger for bring family and friends on our “adventures” with us. Right now, I am really liking the Mazda CX-9 and the Kia Sorento but am open to anything.

I drive a Dodge Durango SLT and I loooooove it. It is huge, people get the hell out of my way and it has plenty of space to load anything and everything.
The third row (and second too) folds flat so you don’t have to deal with storing that extra row. It can hold up to 8 people.

I have the Toyota Highlander Hybrid (seats 8) and I love it. Like obsessively love it. The third row stores flat, but when you fold it up you have very little trunk space. The second row also folds down flat, so it’s great for moving lots of stuff around! The middle seat in the second row can also swap out for a little table surface too which is nice for road trips 🙂

We have a volvo XC90; it has a third row seating that folds down. If you need something with 4 wheel/all wheel drive, Volvos are incredibly safe and well-designed. They’re really made with the family in mind (comes with special features like built-in booster seats, dvd players, and child-friendly fabrics). We drove the Mazda CX-9, and to be honest, it felt as big as a minivan to me. The Volvo is a lot easier for me to drive and park because it’s the same size as a traditional wagon (just sits up higher like an SUV).
