Slightly ajar for the dog and so I can hear my daughter if she wakes up as the monitor is way too loud if I leave it on while sleeping

slomotion :  no. But that closed door is just hiding them. They’re still there, you just can’t see them lurking, waiting to grab your exposed feet.

slomotion :  I once wrote a short scary story called “When you see her, she’s real” and the premise was there’s a demon that plays on your internal thoughts like this thinking you’re seeing something or that you might see something and if you believe it enough and trick yourself into thinking she’s there then she really is when you look again. Happy sleeping 😉

We sleep with it open, our room is upstairs and gets so stuffy if the door is closed, it’s often very windy by us so sleeping with the windows open is not the best option.  We are going to install a ceiling fan and see if that helps but for now, open.

Open because of the cats. However, when stepson is visiting we only have it open a little way. He can’t see in, and knows to knock as it’s our private space.

It’s usually open unless my cat is being a pest and refusing to let us sleep.

So, upon thinking further, my bedroom monster/murderer prevention strategy is that my bed must always face the door and ideally be far from the door. While I realize that if I am opposite the door an intruder could still get to me, there’s something psychologically nice about knowing I’d see them approaching rather than having them sneak up on me from the side…

Always closed. There could be a crack through which light comes in, noooooo way.

Also, heater is still on, so we don’t want the heat to disappear into the hallway, do we?
