desertgypsy :  oh my god it’s not just me!!! I hate turning the light on because it wakes me up but the mirror creeps me out too much.

It stays open when my husband is home because he gets stuffy with it closed (so he says…I don’t notice a difference),  but when he is away for work I definitely close it. That’s one more obstacle an intruder or monster has to get through.

Door is always open minus when we have guests.  We don’t have kids yet so don’t care

I sleep with my bedroom door closed but that’s only because my fiancée is a nurse and and she calls me when she’s done her shift regardless of the time and I don’t want to disturb my parents and siblings

Another “I have an asshole cat” x2. They go in/out/in/out throughout the night and we would get an EARFULL if it were kept closed.

We started closing the bedroom when sleeping to keep the dog in our room. Otherwise he would sometimes go down to main level and have an accident without waking us up to go out.

then I read that keeping doors closed is safer in the event of a fire. My kids bedroom doors are closed. But that started to buffer the noise .

Yes. Kinda always have. But now that we have three dogs who MUST sleep in the same room as us… we leave it open so they can get water in the night. I swear ours drink 2 gallons of water a night.

    Closed. Closed, closed, closed.

I used to have to sleep with the open because of my asshole cat. If I shut him out, he would shove his paw under the door and rattle it incessantly. He also clawed the SHIT out of the carpet right at the door leaving giant holes in it. which was always delightful.

Now – for a variety of reasons – asshole cat lives outside in a nice heated cat house with luxurious patio furniture to lie on and expensive furniture covers to claw giant holes in. So the door is closed. Dogs sleep downstairs behind a baby gate so they can’t paw at the door.

Door open, but wouldn’t be if I had children, guests, etc.

We sleep with ours open because the cat comes in and out. There’s no one else living in the house except my husband and I so we don’t need to worry about privacy.

Closedddd. Unless it’s hot as hell and we need AC (no bedroom vent).

We tried open too due to cats. But closed is better.

slomotion :  i used to sleep with it open, but ever since moving in with my SO, bc he closes it, I now, for no reason, got paranoid and started closing and locking it too.
