We leave Monday (1 week from today!!) and we’re flying from Atlanta to Cancun and then honeymooning at Secrets Maroma. All inclusive for 6 nights. I’m not 100% on the cost of the resort, but we paid for air fare with sky miles.

SO and I have both been to Europe (to 5 different countries between the 2 of us) and while neither of us hated it, neither of us has a burning desire to go back, mainly because our travel interests lean more toward adventure/wildlife/the outdoors and less toward culture/food/history. Iceland seems completely different from the rest of Europe to us – just really exotic and wild and desolate in comparison, hence the attraction for us. 🙂

Ours came out to about $4000 which 1) was expected 2) was the reason we didn’t do a big wedding/reception 3) was 1.5 years delayed.
We did a week long Caribbean cruise and then another week at Disneyworld. THe $4000 was EVERYTHING – from food, to gas, to dog boarding, to souvenirs. We had a blast and wish it could have been longer.
I actually liked that it was delayed because that entire year (2011) was nuts. We got engaged, moved the wedding up A YEAR and got married 8 weeks later, I graduated college, DH left for a 6 month school two days after we got married, and then we moved across the country over Christmas! It was insane so having time between the wedding and the honeymoon was helpful and allowed me to do all the planning my little heart desired.

We went to Cancun, stayed at Fiesta Americana Condesa, an all-inclusive resort. It was fabulous. Including airfar, tax, insurance plus with it being all-inclusive in included food drink & tips it came to $2500 for both of us for 6 days 5 nights. We spent about $500 in cash while there.
