I only had 2 cycles off BCP before I got pregnant, so I’m not sure if my answer is relevant, but I didn’t have O pains during that time. Just twinges, and they were always in my right ovary.

BUMP!  A great board about Ovulation Pains!

I describe my pain as the “unicorn” it feels like a unicorn is galloping around my uterus and STAB, stabs the horn into my side.  This month I am feeling pains on both sides which happens every few months or so, but usually it is just the left side.  Right now though there is a general AF like cramping throughout, which is slightly confusing…

@ChuckNorris:  i get them while on O it feels like a pocket of gas  like a cramp in the lower abdominal area and mine is always on the left side to me and it lasts about 24 hours for me i get a clear egg whites discharge with no smell to it. it comes every month at the same time i have an app on my phone lol as crazy as that sounds but it tracks your period and tells you when your O and when you fertile birds come in the window its really cool and for me its right on the money but I’ve always been on time with my cycle which means when i become menopausal i would guess ill know it right away.

Good to know! I always wondered what that weird sharp, twingy pain is that I get time-to-time. I always thought it was a muscle cramp and kept trying to figure out where in the hell and how in the hell I cramped a muscle over THERE. Like I said, GOOD TO KNOW!

I get them for a couple days on CDs 8 thru 10, even though I’ve just finished menstruating and my cycles are often 35 days or longer, so it’s a little worrying Frown

For me it feels like a very minor running cramp, but much lower and close to my hip, almost always on the right side.
