As the wedding approaches, Fiance and I really need to get down to thinking about signature drinks.
We’re serving unlimted wine, beer, and then 3 signature drinks. I’m at a complete loss for what people will want to drink!
It’s a July wedding (so more summery drinks) and our colors are purple and grey – although I don’t particularly care if the drinks match the wedding colors.
Also, because these are made in bulk before hand, the drinks can’t have a soda or other carbonated element to it, as they will go flat.
So, tell me what you guys had!

We’re having two signature cocktails, one is a french martini and the other is an old-fashioned, since those are our favorite drinks. A french martini may be perfect for your wedding since it kind of matches your color scheme! Here are the ingredients:
2 oz Vodka
½ oz Chambord
2 ½ oz Pineapple Juice

@seattlefashionista: Aww! That sounds delicious

I would go with a vodka mixed drink, a tequila mixed drink, and something “manlier” like a whiskey mixed drink or something. Be sure one of them is plenty girly =).

@IowaDDS13: Hey another Bee from Iowa!
We had two signature drinks which were both a huge hit! Both are light and didn’t taste too strong.
The Wave – pineapple juice, sour mix, vodka, and blue curaçao
White Beach – peach schnapps, white gin, pineapple juice and Sprite

@Cummins59: Although Iowa isn’t really the most desireable place to live right now, due to this horrible freezing weather!

How about one vodka, one rum, and one… something else. Ha.
For a vodka cocktail, I’d go with a cosmpolitan or pink flamigo (both of which are basically vodka-cranberries with splashes of other things).
For rum, how about a punch? There are lots of great recipes… rum runners, etc.
For the third drink, you could do a Manhattan (whiskey), a martini, or a margarita.

We’re having a traditional margarita on the rocks for grooms choice and a Caipiroska (brown sugar simple syrup, vodka, lime) as the brides signature drink!

@IowaDDS13: Eventually it will thaw out haha! We got so lucky on our wedding because we didn’t have power at our home for the entire week leading up to it, thankfully the town that we had the wedding it didn’t get the ice that we did! Any luck deciding on a signature drink yet?

We need to rename them still…
Corpse Reviver No. 2 – Gin, Lillet Blanc, Cointreau, lemon juice, absinthe, garnished with a amarena cherry.
Blood and Sand – Whiskey, sweet vermouth, Cherry Heering, orange juice, garnished with an orange peel
Not really a signature drink, but we’ll have traditional Absinthe drips!

3rd Iowa wedding on this board!! Crazy! I’m getting married September 1st, so it will still be pretty summery (you never know, it could be like 90 knowing Iowa weather) and this is what we are planning:
Something Blue(berry): Blueberry simple syrup, mint, gin, soda water (sort of like a gin fizz)
Something Old(fashioned): Templeton rye, bitters, simple syrup, garnished with orange and cherry (classic old fashioned)
Me and Fiance don’t particularly like vodka but we like gin, and we wanted to incorporate Templeton too!

@IowaDDS13: What are you going to store them in if you’re remaking them?
Oh and this is what we’ve got so far. We’re only going to pick 2 of them though.
1/3 part absolute vodka
1/3 part chambord raspberry liquer
1/3 part pineapple juice
Blue moon cocktail:
1 ounce vodka
1/2 ounce blue curacao
3 ounces lemonaide
3/4 oz blueberry flavored vodka
3/4 oz vanilla flavored vodka
Splash of blue curacao
2 oz stolichnaya vanilla
2 oz malibu rum
2 oz coco lopez
1/4 oz blue curacao
My mom is paying for our open bar and she’s going to use one of her friends thats a bartender, so we’re going to get together and make them and try them out before we choose which 2 we’re gonna use.

- Wedding: September 2013 - B&B
the grooms will be a 7&7, which wouldn’t work so well for you guys since it involves 7up. We are calling it “The Golden Groom”. Mine is a blueberry margarita, or just any margarita that is blue in color. It will be called “The Starry-Eyed Bride”.
I agree with PP’s that a vodka based drink and a rum based drink will be pretty universially popular choices. And then go with a whiskey or bourbon based drink as well!

Do you have a theme? That might help in naming the drinks. But if you are having 3 signature drinks, I would definitely do 1 froo-froo and 1 more manly drink.
