Awesome!

For us, it was his parents forgiving the rest of a loan that Fiance and I had taken out a few years ago so I could take language classes.  We only had a few hundred left, but it’s 150 euro more a month between now and September when we’d have paid it all off!

We agreed to pay for the wine for our rehearsal dinner which DH’s parents picked out and purchased and drove to our wedding. We knew how much the wine cost them and were prepared to pay back the full price, but since only about 1/2 of it was consumed and they took home the rest, they only charged us for that 1/2! Instead of paying something around $1,200 we paid about $600! 🙂

Oh, also I was totally prepared to pay for 1/2 of my BM’s updos which were $95 each and at the last minute my Mom swooped in and paid for everyone! That was a huge savings!!

I got about 2k more in tax refund than I’d intended so that was super exciting!! Also, Fiance took a certification test last month (CFA) and found out after he took it that if he passes, we not only get reimbursed for the cost of the test (2k– although that will have to be reinvested into the level 2 test), but also a 5k bonus at work!!! Even after taxes… that 2.5k will be really exciting!

Mine’s not much, but I was just about to purchase FI’s wedding gift (a nice designer watch) online from the MOMA store — had already written in my credit card info, and was about to hit “submit” — when I decided just for kicks that I would do a google search the watch.  Turns out that the watch retails for about half the price at tons of other reputable stores, and MOMA must just jack the price way up.  So I purchased FI’s gift for half the price and now have some $$ leftover for some nice lingerie for me (which will also make Fiance happy) 🙂

My parents actually offered to give us $4000 for the wedding, when we were fully expecting to pay for it all ourselves… My dad runs his own business, and they’ve put 5 kids through private education since I was in grade 1, so we were not expecting them to be that generous!

My parents!  And somehow we weren’t charged for the bar tab @ our rehersal dinner!
