Hi Chicas!
I’m having wedding withdrawal! I’d love to hear about your plans- or what your wedding was like.
Did anyone do anything a little off beat?
Please share! ๐

I’m totally stalking blogs , love em!
But tell me about your *NorthEast Florida* Wedding or wedding plans
me too! Its been 5 weeks now, and we just got our pics, and I can’t stop looking at wedding stuff! I have even debated changing careers to something wedding related! But, our wedding kicked ass, if I do say so myself! I am just so happy we got a videographer to see everythign we missed, and to be able to relive the whole night anytime we want, and to show our kids! we almost nixed the idea!

I went barefoot! Even when we decided to have the wedding on a solid surface (sans sandy beach) b/c the rain!
I wore a $12 dress…
I didn’t do a bouquet or garter toss— wasn’t happening!!! UMMMM… No kids at the reception.
I was mortified though- the location messed up the bar and set it as a cash bar! So rather than us paying during cocktail hour and thru dinner, we paid during and after dinner. I WAS MORTIFIED. MY DJ had to make an announcement about the bar now being open. Talk about mortified.
We had to re-make the programs the day of the wedding b/c one of my readers could not to come to the wedding. I was pisseddddd.
Hubby wore flipflops & the flower girl wore crocs!
We’re in the planning stages. In lieu of a traditional ceremony my fiance and I are getting married on the dance floor in the reception tent. Neither of us wanting a traditional wedding, so we’ve opted to just turn it into a huge party. We’re using my parents backyard as our venue, and have many different colored lights and linens. We just want everyone to remember our wedding as being a really fun night.
Yay, NEFlorida bees! I am so obsessed with this site. I had NO.IDEA there were so many talented women out there. Had I more than a year to plan, I would incorporated so many more DIY projects.
We are getting married on 11/22/08 at http://www.theribaultclub.com. http://www.mypastiche.com is catering with an all Southern menu. Shrimp & grits, pork loin, fried green tomatoes, collard greens, sweet potato souffle, and mac n cheese w/ truffle oil. YUM. Shea Hoppely is doing my flowers and I’m so thrilled with her. We hit it off from the get-go and she just "gets" my vision. I wish I had an inspiration board, but I don’t. The colors are pink and coral and I’m renting my linens from BB&J, without going through the caterer or florist. It’s so much cheaper to ordering them yourself. My band is Touch of Grey, out of Brunswick, GA. I love the Grateful Dead, so that’s cool. They play other stuff, too, which is good for the other peeps.
I had considered Leah Powell for my photographer after hearing and seeing her fabulous work but, instead, found someone in Atlanta. I am very excited about her, too. Like with Shea, we just hit it off and I think that’s so important with vendors.
Now, to tent or not to tent. That is the question. I cannot BELIEVE how spendy they are. Seriously, more than the venue? Are you kidding me. I can take a risk and just rent the dancefloor and stage, hope for sunny skies or a tent available at the last minute OR book it all which means no return of $$. No idea.
I have spent at least 6 hours a day farting around on the computer finding fabulous wedding blogs and inspirations. It has truly been an eye-opener.
Just FYI, Old Navy is having a great flip-flop sale ($2.50/pair) and I just bought 20 pairs for "tired feet" at the reception. I wasn’t sure of the size so I just bought all 10’s. I figure that’s fine.
Hi Pammietee!
We got married APril 19 and we used Kirby Rentals and we put a tent in our order BUT you are able to cancel, I think it was 2 days ahead of time, without any penatly. So it gave us ample time to monitor the weather. Maybe try to get your tent through them?
Hi beesknees! Thanks for the suggestion. I have only talked with Beachview and that was their policy. I just assumed it was universal. I’ll call them today!
Pammietee
yes pammietee- Check out Kirby- we loved them. They had great service. DO NOT with St Augustine Rental and sales/ one voice productions. SHADY BUSINESS man. Here’s my review

I used Christy Whitehead from freelance4hire.com for photography. SHE IS AMAZING. Really reasonable prices and we negotiated for the copyright of the pics. And, she’s really easy to be around and very unobtrusive. We didn’t even know she was there half the time!
I am getting married March 21, 2009 in Jacksonville/Amelia Island. My ceremony is at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jacksonville, and the reception is at the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island.
Got my dress at Michael’s Formalwear at Town Center, and they have been great – I also got my tuxes there!
I hired Leah powell as my photographer, her work is just so gorgeous, and I loved meeting with her.
My rehearsal dinner will be at the Jacksonville Zoo (my mom actually works there), it’s a gorgeous and unique locale, I’d recommend it!
I am kinda wedding obsessed, so if you have any questions at all about any of this, I would love to share!
I’m getting married May 2, 2009 at the Ritz-Carlton in Amelia Island. I really don’t have much planned..I am looking for a band and I am getting some quotes on Flowers. I did book my photographer (Agnes Lopez) and bought my dress (Love bridal) so I am hoping the rest now falls in place.
I am going for a natural, beach feel…lots of glowing lights throughout the room.
We are expecting about 200 people, which is a lot more than what we thought since everyone is coming from out of town. We are looking forward to a fun weekend with all of our guests.
CalJax, Who did you end up using for flowers? Who is your band? Thanks! I am getting marries in Amelia 4-2010 ๐
My Fiance and I will be getting married next May in Ormond Beach, but we are from Flagler (so sort of Northeast Florida!). I’m currently in Gainesville planning everything from here. I have been keep track of my inspiration, area vendors, and planning at my blog over at
I would love to hear from some other Area Brides!
