my wedding isnt until next march but i felt like experimenting today with centerpieces. i really like curly willow and am thinking i’ll want a tall curly willow arrangements on a few tables, low small flower arrangements on a few tables, and just a candle arrangement on some tables. i think i really like how the curly willow arrangement came out and it only cost me $24. at first i thought i would want a lot of candles with the tall arrangements but when i set it up i thought it might be too overwhelming (thoughts?). im not set on the type of flower i used but would probably like something similar. i havent looked into how much it would cost to have a florist do this yet but i plan on finding out so i can decide if its worth the extra money to not have to stress about it. please tell me HONESTLY what you think. its the first time ive tried this so im open to any suggestions. we are on a budget, though, so any tips to help keep it less costly are appreciated, too. here’s just the arrangement…
with some more candles
the candle holders i might use for tables with just candle arrangements…

I think it will be a beautiful centerpiece! a lot of pictures ive seen like this have the cluster of flowers on the bottom, like you, but I think that it will be much prettier if you have single orchids on the actual branch itself. one here, one there.. like this
and if you put water, or gel in the vase or maybe some orchids going up inside the vase. and votive candles with rose pedals on the table surrounding it would be lovely! just my opinion though (its what im doing lol) 😀
here you can see the gel filling
and here you can kind of see the orchids in the vase

I love it. We’re doing the exact same thing. A mix of low centerpieces and tall curly willow with flowers centerpieces.

@bride8675: My cousin did something like that without the candles. She had shorter sticks though.
