I am inspired to have long, deep pink bridesmaid dresses for my girls like the ones in these photos:
If I order these dresses in the Bill Levkoff color “watermelon” (almost the exact same pink shade above), will the style look dated in my wedding photos? I don’t want to regret my choice 50 years down the road! And the very last thing I want is for my bridesmaids to look back in 50 years and think “oh my gosh I looked horrible, what were we thinking?!”
Let me know what you think about these dresses in general, too! Pretty or not so pretty?
Also as background info, i have 8 bridesmaids–will it be a garish sea of pink!? Our other wedding color is gray. 🙂 Thanks in advance, ladies!

Absolutely not. I LOVE these dresses. They have a Greek Goddess type of feel to them. And the pink with the gray is beauuuutiful. I say go for it.

Not at all! Very pretty (but I also love pink). My colors are purple/plum and fuschia

All wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses look dated 50 years later.
So do the clothes we wear every day.
That’s just life.
Wear what you love now, as you have no idea what you will love in 50 years.
They are beautiful dresses and I love the color.

i think it looks wonderful. i love the colour. my colour was the same.
as for it looking dated in 50 years….think about it, everything we currently own will look dated in 50 years. trends come and go as you know. however, it will still look elegant and that’s all that matters.

@CamMaam: Thank you! I love that you said they look Greek goddess-esque because we’re like 90% sure we’re getting Greek catering! 🙂
Thank you so much to everyone! Y’all are right! Duh they will look dated in 50 years, just like most styles these days! LOL I think I’m being a little OCD about all my wedding decisions *sheepish grin*

@toasty: I think they’re very nice, but keep in mind that EVERYTHING looks dated. No matter what you pick, it will eventually look dated.
Fashions change.. and then come back again. i think most 90s wedding pictures look ridiculous, and I don’t even feel like the 90s were that long ago!
Just go with what you feel is right, and don’t worry about the future.
You’ll always remember happy memories, not ‘what were we thinking?!’.

I think a grey dress with a pink sash and those pink flowers would be amazing if your concerned about a sea of pink.
I like the pink dress in the photo but I find the blue one slightly juvenile, the flowers in the centre of the chest I find dated but the one sholder is great.

@vulnerable64: I think I agree with you. I just started looking at the Bill Levkoff dresses again, to find a one-shoulder instead of the weird flower thingies. 🙂 thanks for the input!

Indeed there is no way to STOP the hands of time…
Whatever you choose now, will look 50 years old, 50 years from now. Period.
So pick what YOU LOVE… and go from there.
Hope this helps,
PS… Lovin the whole look you have in mind… I would say it is a “classic” colour for a Wedding if that helps.
