When I wasn’t on birth control this happened. Every. Single. Month. It’s hard but the only thing that you can do is try to not analyze every symptom and act like your period is coming. I think it’s the best way to avoid going crazy.

I hope it happens for you soon!

@Pappy8:

I’m in the same boat. We’re coming up on our 7th cycle 🙁 I try to keep track of everything but like you said it’s confusing!

I don’t have any tips for you. Hopefully we will get our BFP soon 🙂

I went through that the first few months, but it slowly went away. But the reality is, PMS and Pregnancy symptoms are just very similar. It’s all about the hormone changes. It’s enormously frustrating. After a few cycles of convincing myself I was pregnant, only to have AF arrive, I finally decided to just see every “symptom” as a PMS symptom instead of pregnancy. It makes it a little bit easier when AF does arrive. When you’re not trying to get pregnant you don’t even think about how your body feels in the two weeks before AF arrives, now that you are TTC, you notice every. little. thing. It’s infuriating. I had to take a break from the TTC boards, stop googling symptoms, just step back and be less obsessed with it.

The reality is that most early pregnancy signs co-incide with PMS since the same hormones cause them. Now that you know what’s normal for you, you can look for signs that are different from your usual.

Those ‘pregnancy syptom’s are AF symptoms. Accept them as that and you won’t have high hopes any more. It gets easier if you aren’t expecting pregnant every month. Also, have you been on Fertility Friend? It really helps explain charting and all the little details. I was sent a bunch of lessons that explained everything and it made so much more sense. You might look into it. Charting really helps.

this is only my first cycle off bcp…I’m having all these crazy symptoms right now in the tww and I just know I’m going to be so heartbroken if AF comes, even though I know it’s probably just coincidence and PMS combined 🙁 I even took a HPT earlier this week and I knew it was too early and would be a negative but I did it anyway…I swear though, there is something seriously wrong with my body if I’m not pregnant!

@Pappy8:  It was for me too. It’s crazy how the body changes… I never had bigger boobs with PMS, now I do almost every cycle.

@Pappy8:  I am on cycle 8 now and yes, I used to do this, but now, with so many BFN’s and AF showing cycle after cycle, I am just numb to the pain of not getting my BFP and now, i dont even feel any sympton or think i feel any sympton.  Soooo hopefully you get your BFP soon :)))

@finnaroo:  I. 100%. Understand. This.

I keep saying the same thing. If I’m not pregnant this cycle, AF is going to be one vicious biatch this month.

@Pappy8:  I think you really can’t.

It took us three cycles and the first two cycles, I swore up and down that this was it, this was the BFP. Then finally, during cycle 3, I didn’t feel any additional symptoms aside from my usual PMS symptoms and I didn’t even think to test until I was late.

@Pappy8:  You are definitely NOT alone! I’ve been TTC for a long time and there are times when I’ll get some new “symptom” and look it up and women that had it got their BFP….but AF will come to see me anyways….I must be an awesome host!

Sometimes I have PMS symptoms, sometimes I don’t. There are times when I just KNOW I’m PG, but I’m not. I have NO idea what to expect since I’ve never been PG.

I CAN say that I’ve talked to 2 women recently that told me they had NO PMS when they got their BFP…one said she was just “confident” it had happened.

So at least for my own sanity, I try not to think about it. It’s a let down every single month. Some months are easier, some are harder….usually b/c I’ve built it up in my head that I am PG.

Best wishes in your TTC journey!

I think when you finally decide to TTC you become so aware of every little thing, it doesn’t help that if you google practically any symptom and pregnancy, it comes up.

I almost drove myself crazy because I always thought I never had any PMS sysmptoms until I started TTC, then suddenly I could feel every twinge in my ovaries and/or uterus, my breast were suddenly sore or nipples tingly, I was more thirsty, I was more tired, I was queasy, having vivid baby dreams, I was getting headaches, you name it!

I became absolutely convinced I was pregnant every cycle! I decided to step back from TTC forums and pay attention to my BBT charts and now I know I have a normal luteal phase and my period comes on the day or the day after my temp drops.

I have wasted so many hpts on PMS! the last time I poas I was so cross with myself because as soon as I wiped I saw blood Yell

Anyway, I hope it happens for you this cycle but what I’m getting at is to stay calm and positive but don’t get worked up over the early symptoms. Stress never helps anything!
