Sometimes it is easier when honesty comes from a faceless stranger. I showed my Mom the dress I liked and she tore it apart. But she pulled this one and I really really like it (but I didn’t get “the feeling”) After about trying on 15 dresses I am not sure I will have that feeling….
So here we go. This is the current front runner.
What do you like? What do you not like?

I must start with the positives. This dress shows your amazing shape and you look beautiful. However, I dont like the color areas. This is the style of dress that I dont like. Its one of my wedding dress pet peeves. 😀

i love the beading, the neckline and the back, don’t love the way the waist in the front goes in that v, but i don’t hate that either. I think it’s a really pretty dress and the shape looks fabulous on you!

This dress really shows off your figure and I really like the beading. However, I’m not a fan of the colour parts.

@LadyCupcake: You look beautiful! I presume you really like the idea of having a contrasting color on the dress? If not, I would make sure you definitely do want to do that, since, to me, this will draw attention away from you and place it on this feature of the gown.
I personally like the gown better from the back than the front, but I liked the back of my own gown better than the front also.
If you decide you love this gown, you will look beautiful and radiant in it. However, if you are sort of “eh” about it, I would keep looking. I personally would like to see you in a sweetheart neckline and something with a more natural or just slightly dropped waist vs. the empire waistline of this gown.

Thank you. I like color. It would be more of a pool blue though. I know it isn’t for everyone, but I like that little bit of something different it brings.
I will look into a sweetheart with natural and dropped waist. I have 1 more day I am going to look. I am just a real jeans and tshirt girl. I get gussied up to go to the bar once in a while but not too often… I have no idea what looks good on me!
Thank you all for the help!

the pros: the dress shows off your figure beatifully and is overall very flattering. it gives you a wonderful hourglass shape with a small waist.
the cons: i think this overall style is very dated. Like 10 years or more dated. and by that i mean the color inlays, the embroidery pattern and the general shape of the dress. I think this dress probably makes you look older than you really are.

This style is not very modern at all. I’m no longer a fan of this style. Ask the bridal store to show you something more contemporary

I really dig the shape from the front, it’s very flattering and I like the neckline.
I do not like the color inlays. If you want color, maybe a sash or colored accessories like a bracelet, sash or bolero would be better. I also really don’t like the length of the train, it seems very long and overly dramatic.

Very figure flattering but as pp said I’m not a fan of dresses with colour like that. Its very dated.

LOVE the train and the emphasis on your natural waist (only kind of waistline I like). Not a fan of the neckline or shape of the back (a slight sweetheart and a bit of a V-shaped back would be AMAZING on this dress!)

I’ve actually had two friends in the last three years — who could NOT be more different in body type — wear that dress and pull it off. Color inlays aren’t my favorite thing in the world, but you know what? You like color. So go ahead and rock that, if you’re liking it. I love the back view, and your waist looks super tiny.
But here’s my question — do you have photos of you in the dress that you originally loved?

I think the back of the dress is beautiful. =)

I actually think the whole thing looks great on you!!

@bestbuddies: Ditto. Well said.
