Hey there date twin!

I like where you’re going with your monogram — I’m a big fan of the vintage vibe.  However, I agree with what the previous posters have said about the font being a bit… illegible.  I’ve taken the liberty of playing around with your file.  I think you could still do the ‘B’ in the most ornate script you want, as long as you keep the ‘F’ and ‘A’ simpler.

I’d be happy to share fonts and Illustrator tricks with you, if you want.  Happy DIY’ing!

Did you use the custom monogram on WeddingChicks?

http://www.weddingchicks.com/freebies/custom-goodies/vintage-monogram/

I made mine on there, but I wanted our first intials too! Wish that they would give an option for that! Personally, I love the look of the first monogram- I like the vintage font 🙂

(I’m sorry in advance for my monogram upload- I did it by mistake, but now I can’t delete the file from the uploads line!)

I agree with everyone else, the first letter is really difficult to read.  And I love purple, but I really am not crazy about the orange and purple together.  The border around the initials is very pretty and definitely has that ventage vibe you are going for.

@bakerella: I also find the first letter hard to read.  I was going to ask whether it was an “I” or a “T”, but your guesses are possibilities too…

The first letter is hard to read. But to be completely honest (and please don’t be offended) I think the insides of the letter are just too busy. You want them to stand out more so perhaps having less is more?? Best of luck!!

Anna, try doing a youtube search on photoshop or illustrator to see if there are any tutorials.  Another good website is Lynda.com, but that one isn’t free.
