I’m sorry, but did you say that you wanted a black diamond because your fiance is black OR did you say that you wanted a black diamond because his ring is black?
I mean, this really doesn’t matter, I just want to make sure I read that correctly. If you love it, that’s all that really matters. But I do understand your feelings getting hurt from the negative response to it. But you really shouldn’t be concerned by their opinion, especially if you wanted to her their honest opinion on it. And since you asked, I have to say that I’m not a fan of it, but I’m not you and remember that he gave it to you because he knew that you would love it. So keep loving it and wear it with pride because it means so much more to you than just a ring.
PS- I don’t even have a ring yet, so consider yourself a very lucky woman!

Wow! People must just be:
C. have no sense of creativity/originality
D. all of the above
..if they think your ring is not stunning! Kudos for standing out and glamming up!

I think that ring is absolutely gorgeous on you. And I think it’s sweet it has sentimental meaning for your Fiance, too =]. I don’t think a diamond can be “too big” that is hogwash poop (celebrities with 20 carats aside, and even then they’re still gorgeous! just inpractical for us normal folks lol). If you had a smaller white diamond they’d bitch and moan about the size of that, too! People are stupid. Black diamonds are fabulous. And classy.
And PS if you guys are not a “traditional” couple b/c he’s black and you’re white, then we’re not either b/c i’m taller than my husband and people can kiss it! And neither are, oh, a ton of people, lol

it’s gorgeous!!! don’t listen to other people… you wanted a unique ring, and more traditional people don’t really get it sometimes, you know? i, for one, love black diamond. i’ve actually daydreamed of a black diamond with black gold. hehe.

I have a black diamond ring similar and I did not get good feedback either. People were like is that black or blue? Why is it colored? I replied, well we are not a traditional couple and wanted something unique and different than other couples. You ring is beautiful!! LOVE IT!!

Hey recently, I’m going to be brutally honest and say it’s not my personal taste. I have really dainty fingers so I was keen for something very delicate with a vintage look. But that said, I think it’s a freakin’ AWESOME ring. I think that people can be so tactless when they see something that they personally wouldn’t wear, but that is obviously totally cool and fits really well with another person. They just ignore that last part and go “I don’t like it” rather than thinking that it’s a really amazing design with a lot of meaning that suits the other person. And hello, black diamond? Very swish. I love the symbolism that is behind it, for you, also. So stuff what they think. Keep your fabulous ring and wear it with pride!

I think you’re ring is beautiful. If you love it and your Fiance loves it, what everybody else thinks shouldn’t matter.
Congrats on the engagement and happy wedding planning!

I think it’s a stunning ring. How rude can people be? Who cares if they don’t like it, it’s your dream ring and nobody is making them wear it! I love love love the symbolism behind it and I also really like the way you took the photo with the inter-linking hands, very romantic!
