A while back I posted about color schemes for my wedding and you guys gave great suggestions. Now Fiance and I decided on our colors, but now I’m having a hang up on my bridesmaids colors. I want our wedding to feel modern and chic (FI said that I’m over using this term, lol). Our ceremony is in the evening with cocktails and reception to follow. Would you choose Navy or coral for your bridesmaids dresses? This has been a great debate. Future Mother-In-Law says that the coral is best for a summer wedding. I say that navy is better suited for an evening wedding and will give a chic (there I go again) look. If navy is chosen, then I would do more of the coral color in the flowers.
Future Mother-In-Law is causing me to second guess myself…I need help. I was already slightly confused to begin with, lol!!!
Here is my color scheme (open to revisions):
NavyCoralAuqa (accents)Antique Gold (accents)White (accents)Pops of yellow and greens in our floral arrangements
Here’s the church: Ignore the holiday decor in the second pic.
Here is my reception venue: More than likely I will be using the same chairs and linens as seen in the pic below. I’m working budget to see if I can get different linens 🙂

I would do Navy with brighter flowers as you mention 🙂

I agree with you – I think navy with coral flowers would be stunning and elegant.

I would choose coral dresses and navy accessories

For a chic evening wedding, I would definitely choose navy, bringing in coral in the flowers and other decor. A friend of mine is having an evening wedding at the end of July and I believe her girls will be in navy. I think it’s going to look fabulous.

@bells: Navy accessories, interesting…have you seen a pic with coral dresses and navy accessories? I think that could look really hip. I never thought of doing it like that. I think the coral dress would have to be a deep tone and a bit sassy…no frills. I want my girls to look like they stepped out of Vogue, lol!

I say navy too, especially with the evening wedding. Also, it would be a lot easier to do coral florals (rather than doing coral dresses and trying to do something with the navy flowers/accessories). Navy all the way!

I am sooooo happy to hear that you all agree with my choice!!! I can’t wait to show my Fiance and Future Mother-In-Law this. lol! I’m sure Future Mother-In-Law will ask me why do I listen to a bunch of strangers like once before, lol! She doesn’t get it…it’s not 1979.

I would say go with the navy and bright flowers.. I am not a big fan of dark flowers.. (..are there even navy flowers..?hm).. but I am getting married in july and my girls are wearing black. lol I am going for modern/contemporary chic too! lol

I would do navy with coral flowers and/or accesories too.

I chose coral because 1. its more flattering and 2. it will be much easier to find coral colored flowers to incorporate that color.

I’m having an afternoon/early evening (4:00) summer wedding and my girls will be in black. So I am all up for the dark colors. Besides, I think the flowers will pop a while lot against the navy dresses which would look gorgeous!
