We were in the Bahamas last October and only got one good day of sunshine the whole week.  🙁

Im a big fan of the Virgin Islands, but not sure about the weather that time of year.

I’d definitely recommend a cruise — then you can see a ton of islands! We booked a suite for our honeymoon. The extra space will be really nice. That having been said… the more cramped cabins wouldn’t be all that bad for just two people. Have a great time!

@rachie205:  Just repeating what every diver has told me.  🙂  Even my instructors said it’s the 2nd best.  Guess everyone has their own preferences, but I have seen it listed as #2 and #3 on lists.

@BoiledPNut:  Eh, I guess that’s hard. Everyone has their own favorites, so all the lists are different anyway. 🙂 I did like Cozumel though. We did a night dive there that was tons of fun, and on another dive, I followed a turtle down to about 105 (oops! a little bit deeper than I was supposed to be going!). The water was ridiculously clear on that dive though, looked like the surface was just 20-30 feet above us!

@Alip22:  We did a LOT of talking and researching before choosing to go to Mexico. I had planned to take a trip to Cancun about 5 years ago and Fiance absolutely refused to go so we canceled. It took a lot of convincing for us to decide to go there. (I am always watching Gangland and a bunch of other stuff so we were very leery.)

We are going to Playa Del Carmen. The “bad” areas are on the opposite side of the country.

Our other friends and family members go to Mexico a few times a year with no problems. As long as your not just wandering along on your own in rural Mexico, I think it will be ok. I have been researching this for a year.

With the reviews this brand of resorts have gotten for guests and head hanchos in the travel world-I am sure things are going to be fine.

I think it is natural for everyone to be leery of Mexico especially with the stuff in the media.

If we didn’t knwo so many people frequent it over the years and travel agents who are family friends, we may be even more hesitant.
