I’m white and FH is Latino (Mexican and Salvadoran, to be specific). We live in LA so it’s pretty normal. My immediate family hasn’t had any issue, but I’m a little concerned about my extended paternal family because some of them are hicks. But Bay Area hicks so I guess it could go either way? His side of the family is more about the language barrier. They all speak English but the older generation is more comfortable with Spanish and will sometimes lapse into that at holidays, but it’s not that big of a deal. I’m trying to learn it anyway!

Honestly the biggest issue is probably more about me not being catholic (hippie parents, raised secular) and that we have no intention of getting married in the church or baptizing ffuture children. But FH stopped practicing when he was 11, so that would have been the case no matter who he married!

Sorry to add on to an old thread! I saw this and I was fascinated and had to read every single comment!  I am Asian and my Darling Husband is White (Italian/Polish).  We are both from California, and I am so grateful to live in a place where no-one bats an eye at our relationship.
