My dad used to play “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle for me when I was a little girl and he put me to bed. He won’t know what song I’ve picked until we dance but I know it will make him cry. It’s definitely an oldie at this point but it’s definitely OUR song. I’m going to remix it with something current but I don’t know what yet… Maybe “don’t you worry, child” by Swedish house mafia…

I chose king of the world by Point of Grace. I almost chose sweet pea because that’s what my dad calls me, but the lyrics were off to me. King of the World just fit us. 🙂

“I Hope You Dance”  by Lee Ann Womack.  I cry every time I listen to it.  Which isn’t very smart since we’ll be dancing to it, but oh well :).  The lyrics are beautiful.

I was going to pick “it wont be like this for long” by Darius Rucker, but i didnt think my dad would know the song. My dad is a huuuge Grateful Dead fan. We never discussed songs and with him being such a music lover i figured he would want to take control of the song, but he never said a word. I wanted it to be special and something he would love. I showed my mom and my aunt “i will take you home” by the grateful dead and they both said that was the one. On my wedding day my dad looked at me and just kept saying “no, no you didnt, omg how did you find this song” while sobbing HARD. it was so special♡
