I’m in dire need for some suggestions here. I have very oily skin. I wash and moisturizer with Cetaphil wash and lotion (with SPF). I don’t like to spend a ton of money on makeup, I use mostly drug store stuff. By mid-day my skin is an oil field, shiny, and looks so bad. It clogs my pores even more. So, I’m looking for suggestions for good makeup for oily skin, foundation and setting powder in particular.

It isn’t makeup, but if you work somewhere that has the paper toilet seat covers in the bathroom, they make EXCELLENT face blotters. Not kidding.

Clinique oil free medium coverage matte foundation.

Also you might want to look into a different face wash and moisturizer. Those often have an impact on oiliness.

I have found that Cetaphil Dermacontrol SPF 30 moisturizer to contol oily skin does not work at all.
But blotting sheets are an absolute must! Also, I like neutrogena shine contol powder

In terms of drug store stuff, I just bought a garnier facewash that had clay and charcoal that really helped oil wise. Much less expensive than the clinique charcoal mask and I got about the same results. I recently tried loreal matte face powder and cover girl stay matte bb cream with very good results.

I have terribly oily skin as well! While it can be annoying, I try to remind myself that we’ll have less wrinkles one day. 😉 A few things I have found work for me:
Laura Geller Spackle Mattifying Under Make-up Primer – I put this on first thing in the morning before my makeup and have noticed a big difference.
Beauty Blender – Using a beauty blender to apply my makeup (concealer, powder, etc.) has CHANGED MY LIFE! I just have a few of the off-brand kinds I bought from TJ Maxx/Marshalls and you get them wet and then squeeze out a lot of the water so they are just damp and use it to apply/blend your makeup. I put concealer on my face then use the blender to dab it in and use the blender to apply my powder directly. This has completely changed the level of oiliness I feel! Try watching a video about how to use them or something. I was using it dry at first until my friend explained how it had to be done… Make sure to wash it often, though! I wash mine with baby shampoo every morning in the shower. Some people wash it right after using with just hand soap at the sink.
Clean and Clear Oil Blotting Papers – I swear by these! I have tried all kinds of fancy and expensive oil blotting papers, from Tatcha to Boscia, etc. But these are BY FAR the best. They absorb so much oil and can help me extend my makeup to the evening instead of having to wash and restart if I want to go anywhere after work…

I have very oily skin also. No drug store brand worked for me. I decided to go the bare minerals route and it worked wonders for me! I LOVE the Ready foundation compact. It provides great coverage and oil control all day long. The $30 was worth it to me because I struggled my whole life with oily skin. Frequent blotting wasn’t the fix I wanted. I wanted non shiny skin! Also, you may want to change your face wash. I swear by those grapefruit makeup wipes. Any brand of those works for me: neutrogena , Burt’s Bees, or generic

I also have oily skin, and I would start with your skin care routine. What I found made the biggest impact on the amount of oil produced was, in fact, face oil. In many cases, it is because your skin is so dehydrated that it over-produces oils.
I use Clinique for men charcoal face wash, then use a face oil mixed with my regular night cream before bed. My skin has never looked better.
As for makeup, I use Loreal Pro Matte foundation, and set it with Maybelline Fit Me translucent powder. I never look greasy, by the end of the day my skin is a little dewy but nothing crazy.
