Inside jokes that no one else knows about

Being horrifically sick to the point of hysteria at the same time, and still having a ball because all things considered, your together through it.

Being married to someone that knows your shoe, ring, and bra size without missing a beat.

Setting out with every intention of baking cookies and eating all of the dough.

Closet TV shows your both ashamed to admit you watch…hellloooo Bridezillas!

The hijinx of trying to hide gifts from each other!

Permanent wingman…awesome!

I’ve only been married for about two months, but we dated for almost six years before our wedding day. So far, the differences that I like about marriage vs. dating include: a really strong sense of commitment and comfort, better communication/clarity about our finances, and the realization that even though I am unemployed right now, my husband will stick by me and support me until I can find a job, no matter what. I also like knowing that he will *for sure* be the father of my children and that I can tell him pretty much anything without having to worry about that tiny chance that we could “break up” over a stupid fight (not to say that people don’t get divorced for reasons that are right for them, but you know what I mean). And then finally, I feel an even stronger sense of respect and care for our relationship; our wedding vows and religious ceremony were really important to me and I like the fact that from here on out, I can always remember those vows when I need encouragement about our relationship.

I think being married is pretty amazing, so far!! Laughing

I love never having to ‘really’ say goodbye…. I hated hanging up the phone or leaving Darling Husband when we were dating…

I absolutely love coming home to him, kissing him good night, and kissing him good morning.  πŸ™‚

It’s really just a warm, fuzzy feeling knowing that you and your love are both committed to being together forever, starting a home, raising a family together, having serious discussions about things or just making small talk and trying to make eachother laugh.

That, and watching TV shows like Revelution and thinking, “Thank God, if the electronic apocalypse comes and all our cars/phones/electricity/batteries stop working, at least we’ll have eachother!”

Being able to say “I’m married” or “This is my husband”

EDIT: And obviously the whole being in love thing =) but that was true before we were married!

@MrsPinkPeony:  YES!

My favorite thing is being able to use the word “husband” to describe his connection to me. I finally have a word that expresses to the world the deep, strong, warm connection that we have. “boyfriend”, “fiance”, “significant other”, etc. just never cut it for me. he is my husband, my lifelong partner in everything, the person who makes me want to be an even better person every moment of every day, my rock and my comforter. It’s just…. magic.

We’ve been married for two years, and I still get all stupid when he calls me his wife.  I just love it so much!

Also, having someone to cover for you without batting an eye.  The other day, my Mom was lecturing me about sleeping in, instead of waking up early to make his lunch (for the record, I sleep until 7:30, and I’m pregnant, so, you know, tired) and I said “I didn’t make lunch, I sent him a pizza at work.”  Because I just didn’t want to hear it.

So, when Darling Husband got home, I said “If Mom asks, I sent you a pizza at work today, k?”  He didn’t even blink, he just said “Okay.”  And then, for good measure, he “thanked” me for the pizza in front of my mother.

We are a team like nobody’s business.

We’ve lived together for 7 years before getting married.  What I like about being married is I get to call him “husband”, I feel more like an actually real family, I feel like now I’m officially one of his family members, and I’ll get to change my last name to his!  I feel completed.

I love that we can joke around and just have fun. When and if we get into fights it doesn’t last too long because we hate to be mad at each other. He is my best friend

Knowing someone is next to me in bed. I think I would miss that most if I didnt have my husband.
