Hi Bees! First time poster, I’m engaged only a week today! I already feel like I’m annoying everyone with my constant wedding speak, so I’m glad I found this board!!
I’d love to hear your proposal stories and see your erings!!!
My fiance had a pretty dress hanging on our bedroom door for me to put on when I got home from work last Saturday. A cab picked me up and drove me to the beach where a huge annual fireworks competition happens (my favourite nights of the summer!!). He had set up a gourmet picnic right at the water front and asked me to marry him after we ate. He even had it timed so all my friends arrived as he asked and then we watched the fireworks together ☺️☺️

ringless over dinner /tea. A very quickly spoken will you marry me. That was it. Nothing big fancy or grand. No ring while in my pjs eating egg and chips 🍟😊

In was a November evening and we’d gone to our favourite sushi place for dinner. We were cutting through the park on the way home and he stopped to “tie his shoe” under one of the old-fashioned lanterns there. It was very quiet and sweet, just the two of us. He asked me to be his wife and I died of happiness, hahaha.

My fiance and I have been together since we were 16. Once, we were at a banqet hall and went ouside for a walk and sit his brother’s pick up truck for a little. There we had our first kiss.
Fast forward to 8.5 years later…. He told me we are going to pick out countertops, so I took off all my makeup and my pretty dress and put on a sweatshirt and leggings. He said we have to park across the street from the contractor’s house, and he pulled into THAT banquet hall’s parking lot. There, in the same exact spot was the same exact pick up truck, he opened up the bed and there were 100 roses and candles (it was our 100 month anniversary). He picked me up and sat me on the bed of the truck and proposed. 🙂

That’s actually so sweet! I loved my proposal but I always pictured a much smaller affair like this. Probably over tea too 🙂
Under the lanterns?! Omg. I’m a sucker for attention to lighting!!
Wowowow! I have no words! What a romantic.
Your ring is stunning 😍 it looks perfect on your hand!

YES! it’s funny but at the moment I think I was so overwhelmed that I didn’t really take all of it IN. I wish I could go back and relive it all!

My Fiance proposed in May during our two week vacation to California. I had my suspicions as we’d been talking about getting engaged for months at that point, and I knew he had the ring (or at least knew he was close to paying it off). On our third day in California, we went hiking at a state park and decided to make our way off the beaten path down to a small, empty beach. He proposed there, just the two of us, with the sound of rushing water in the background and waves lapping at our hiking shoes. It was perfect.
Congratulations on your engagement and welcome to the Bee!

Love your proposal and ring! Congrats:-)
my Fiance told me we were going to the movies. I threw on crap clothes and my glasses. He said we needed to stop by my place first, so we did. When I opened the door, there were candles and flowers EVERYWHERE. I was really confused, thinking my place had been broken into or something. then I saw blown up pictures of my grandparents (who had just passed) all over.
someone tapped me on the shoulder and I turned around and there was my mom. My mom lives really far away, as in I have to fly home. I only get to see her a few times a year and we are super close. I started crying like a baby, and Fiance got down on his knee and asked:-)
it was the most perfect proposal for me. He flew my mom in, had her picked up at the airport, shopped her favorite foods, and treated her like a queen:-) that’s MY guy

Oh my! That is beautiful.
Aweee! That’s so incredibly sweet. Nothing better than a guy who treats your momma like a queen too!

We attended a friend’s wedding where I was a bridesmaid, and afterwards K complimented me on how I had looked walking down the aisle, and asked if I’d ever want to do it again as a bride. We went home and had a discussion about it that basically boiled down to, “I want to get married you and I think we’re ready.”
K ordered a ring the next morning, and I woke up to breakfast in bed a week later, with a ring box next to the eggs.
