I haven’t told my boss yet that I’m pregnant yet, at 19w4d I think I’m overdue…
It’s just myself and him in the office, and it’s getting obvious.
I think I’m having a hard time because he’s taking a family vacation to Hawaii at the end of October and I feel like I’m kind of ruining it since I won’t be back to work yet (due Oct. 9). It’s going to be a hassle finding someone to fill in for a week since it’s just the 2 of us, it’s possible and can be done but…. I don’t know maybe I’ll be able to come back to work for that week while he’s gone. Anyways I just needed to vent, I’m totally stressing out about telling him.

Dont stress!! and I doubt you will be able to go to work for that week (nor want to) ..maybe he is already suspecting …I cant imagine if it is ONLY the 2 of you that he hasnt noticed anything!
I would say tell him , tell him your due date.. and then have him figure out the timing and be supportive regarding a temp 🙂
oh yes ! and CONGRATS !!

You have tons of time to find someone to handle those weeks when you’ll both be gone, plus he may want to get someone to fill in while you’re out for maternity leave so the sooner you tell him the more time he has to look for someone.
Don’t stress – most people are excited to hear the news. I was freaked out about telling everyone I work with but it turned out to be no big deal.
Congrats and good luck with the conversation!

Honestly, the sooner you tell him, the sooner you can both start planning what will happen while you’re on maternity leave. I totally understand about being apprehensive when telling your boss. Even though I get along great with my boss, I was, too. But he was more excited about talking about the baby than figuring out plans for my maternity leave! People are generally thrilled to hear about a baby on the way and I bet your boss will be, too.
I really think your boss will understand. I mean, frankly, a new baby takes precedece over a family vacation! Good luck!
