zstbee84 :  I think a lot of people temp only until they ovulate and start back up after AF. Honestly, for me, once you figure out you can’t take a single temp to really mean anything, it’s a lot easier to take it in stride. Temping 1. Confirms ovulation, and 2. Let’s me know if AF is on her way. Honestly, though, after 9 cycles of TTC and temping, it was the one thing that also encouraged me to test that one cycle that I pretty much just gave up… And sure enough, BFP.

Nonetheless, you shouldn’t be stressing over any of this. Definitely weed out what stresses you out too much.

zstbee84 :  I hear you on that! I ended up temping for a few days after my BFP to make sure my temps were starting elevated and I DON’T recommend that because it was stressful AF. GL this month!

Yeah I stop temping about 4 days after O is confirmed. it gives me a break for the rest of the LP and until my period is done.

The way I see it, there’s nothing you can do to control events in the TWW, they’re gonna happen no matter what so you might as well just try to chill and see what happens. Once you’ve BDd and Oed that’s all there is to it.

i 100% agree- temping in general stressed me right TF out. The first cycle I temped we had no luck and I was so stressed out we took a break from TTC. The second cycle we tried I didn’t temp I just went based off OPK’s and I got my BFP (now a healthy four week old!). There’s something to be said for TTC, stress and being relaxed, I think anyway.

Good luck bee!

zstbee84 :  I know very few people who got pregnant right after a miscarriage and most of those people ended up having healthy pregnancies the next time they were pregnant, regardless if that was month 2 or month 20. If this isn’t your month, hopefully it is soon!

But about your temp: I’d still wait out AF and test every few days. My LP was variable after my MC so it’s possible AF is on its way or that your results just weren’t showing up yet when you tested.

And just to contribute to the actual thread topic: I ended up TTC for a while and by the end, I’d only temp from cd10 until 3 days after O and then again around 10 dpo to look for my temp to drop for AF. I found temping helpful for understanding O, but stressful to analyze.

I agree with pp – I don’t think getting pregnant again right after a MC is as common as internet message boards make it sound. Anecdotally, I feel like it’s more common for that to happen if you have a CP than a later-stage miscarriage (which I believe yours was more like 8-9 weeks if I remember right, and you had to get a D&C?). My hunch is that many women who have MCs need a few cycles for their bodies to regulate so that all systems are go for conception/implantation. In my case, it took three cycles after my MC (which happened naturally at 6.5 weeks) before I got pregnant with my sticky bean.

If you have the restraint to stop tempting after O I’d definitely do that. I kept swearing I would do that but never had enough self control lol. Definitely do whatever you can to minimize anxiety during the TWW!
