I’m starting to think temping might just not be for me. I’ve only been doing it for a month and a half but I can’t ever seem to wake up at the exact same time to take my temp. I set my alarm for 6:30am because that’s when my hubby leaves for work in the morning and he always wakes me up to say good bye anyways. I’ve found that I’ve been really anxious about my temps so I end up naturally waking up much earlier (like between 4am and 5am). So I end up taking my temp then and then I go to the bathroom and go back to sleep. Then I temp again at 6:30 just to see what the temp is and most of the time it’s higher but today it was lower than when I temped at 4:40 when I woke up naturally. Today I woke up with a sore throat and dry mouth (I snore and sleep with my mouth open most nights…sooo attractive lol) so I’m not sure if sleeping with my mouth open is making my temps lower.
I do believe I ovulated this cycle (second cycle off the pill and hopefully ovulated on cd 26) due to many factors but let me know what you think. I got a positive opk on cd 25 and I had never gotten a positive in the 2 months I’ve been using them (pretty sure my first cycle off the pill I did not ovulate). I tested 3 times a day and the LH surge defiintely lasted less than 24 hours (is this a bad thing??) About 12 hours after my positive opk I got this pain on my left side that I have never experienced before. It lasted probably 6-8 hours, getting worse at the end and then completely going away. I also experienced ewcm the same day as the positive opk and possible ovulation pain, as well as a day prior and a day after. I had never seen ewcm before so I was really excited!! 2 days after the positive opk I saw a temp rise of .25 degrees and over the next 2 days it increased another .25 degrees (definitely a slow riser if my temps are accurate with my mouth breathing…is this bad?). Also, my temps are on the low side I think (again not sure if this is the mouth breathing or something more serious). My pre-ov temps range from around 97 to 97.2 and my post ov temps (if I did indeed ovulate) are around 97.55-97.74. I am definitely paranoid I have low progesterone or something but I know I probably should give it more time since I just got off the pill after 8 years. I honestly think I shouldn’t even look at my temps this month because I’ve used 2 different thermometers (alltho if I take my temp with them both they both are the same number so I’m thinking they are both accurate) and I can’t seem to ever take my temp within an hour of when I need to take it due to waking up naturally before (I honestly think I am waking up because I’m anxious about my temps!) Another side note…I wear a retainer on the top and bottom of my teeth at night…but I take them out to temp…not sure if this affects anything.
Anyone think temping is just not for me? Or should I try temping vaginally? My bbt thermometer says “for oral use only” so I need to find one that temps vaginally if I decide to go that route next month. My husband is concerned that I am completely obsessing over the temping (which I am, because I really want to think I am ovulating!) and it is causing too much anxiety. Definitely hoping for a bfp in 10 days so I don’t have to continue temping until my next child!! Let me know your thoughts ladies! Thanks for listening and thanks for your support!!
