I stopped as soon as I got my BFP.

A friend of mine temped until 21 DPO, which is what I think I will do too. =)

Ummm guilty, I’m 22 DPO and still temping! I see my doctor for the first time tomorrow though and I think after that I will feel better and stop. I figured why not. I temp when my alarm rings to get up for work, and I’ve been skipping temping on weekends so I can sleep in. So it’s really not changing my routine any.

With my daughter, I kept doing it until my doctor’s appointment–which is when DH ratted me out, and she told him to take it away from me.  I also peed on sticks like nobody’s business.

With #2, I wasn’t temping at all, but I DID keep peeing on sticks, until DH took out all the receipts and added up the costs of all those pregnancy tests.

FWIW, neither way made me feel any better, I was only reassured for about 5 minutes after each temp check, or pee stick.  I would stop!

@SBMT:  I was still temping until I got to about 6 1/2 weeks as well as constantly POAS, but I have now stopped thankfully. I was finding I was obsessing about the slightest dips and needed to stop before I drove myself mad. I also found it a lot easier not to after I saw the heartbeat at my first u/s. I think your DH has a point. As addictive it is, it’s only going to make you crazy if it dips at all.

Stopped when I got my BFP.  I considered continuing to temp, but DH and I knew it would make me turn into a crazy lady and worry unnecessarily if I had a temp drop for completely innocent reasons.

To add to my post, I haven’t worried more because of it.. but clearly haven’t gained anything either. I didn’t temp this morning and I probably won’t anymore. I see the doctor today for the first time so I’m pretty sure I’m going to retire it!

Step away from the thermometer! Glad to hear you came to this conclusion as well 🙂

I retired mine too! Got home from the doctor yesterday and put it away for good.

@SBMT:  whoops I’m guilty too! I figured it was cheaper than taking a pregnancy test to make sure every day haha. I guess it’s kind of pointless though right, because if a miscarriage is going to happen at this stage I don’t think anything can stop it (?). Maybe I should stop though, I did have one day where our house was really cold and my temp was quite low and I was a bit concerned!
