Can’t believe I’m just seeing this blog!!! I’m getting married at TP Oct 27th and soooo happy to find this.  Great photos everybody!  Did anyone have their reception in the sea song hut?  We only have 26 coming so they wont let us have it in the lodge.  They are also making us do buffet for welcome dinner….did anyone else have the buffet for WD and was it any good?  Im having a mento band for reception…did anyone else have them..Dr Wood and the Woodies?? How are those white chairs with covers?  Are they just white plastic bucket chairs underneath?  Ugh! I have so many unanswered questions!  🙂

@AliciaNegrilTP:  The sea song hut is beautiful and will be great for your reception. We had our ceremony there. We did not do our welcome dinner there but I have to say the food there every day of the 6 days I was there was amazing. I am SURE the buffet will be amazing too. I used the reaggea band so I don’t know about the other one. but every refered vender I used from them was great.

The chairs ARE the plastic lawn chairs with the white cover. I couldnt stomach those so I ordered the chavari chairs from thai flora. WORTH the money. Made the photos and ambience at the ceremony and reception much nicer.  🙂 Hope that helped. I don’t really come on wedding bee much anymore, only to check this thread in hopes I can help answer some of the questsions I had before going to TP.

I didn’t use the plastic chairs either. I rented the chavairi chairs . I also didn’t use mento band we used the steel band for before ceremony and cocktail hour.  Alicianegriltp I think if you want a plated dinner for your welcome dinner then tht is what to should provide.. Other wise you could go right next door to rockhouse or catcha fAllen star both these restaurants are next door.      🙂  ladies you can check out a few of my pics on our photographers website   at

@denspoohbear11 and @pert86:

My wedding at TP is in three weeks (9/15) and I’m so thankful for your guys’ input on the chairs! I hadn’t realized they were plastic so now, I’ll be going with Tai Flora too. Flavea has been wonderful to work with there – I didn’t compare prices, but she does put my mind at ease and that may be worth a premium.

Has anyone ever floated candles in the pool at TP? I’d love to do this but can’t figure out how big or how many candles to get.

Thanks and any more advice on quality, gotcha’s, etc. I’m all ears!

Can anyone tell me how much it costs to rent the chavairi chairs from Tai?  I am not getting married at tensing pen but am using either tai or floral fantasy negril for flowers and now you have me thinking about chairs.

@Chyna2012:  They were 10 dollars a chair for me I think.

@ppplll6:

Thank you!  The location i am getting married at charges $7 per chair cover (to cover the plastic lawn chair) but if Tai has the chairs at only $10, i would take that instead.  i emailed Flavea about the price per chair but haven’t heard back.

@Chyna2012:  Make sure you check with the hotel if there is an additional setup/breakdown fee. They often charge a chair rental fee ($7 for example) and a setup fee ($10 for TP). So if you rent from Tai, it’ll be $10 rental + potential setup fee.

TWO weeks to go!
