I was going to have a marquee wedding but changed my mind as it was going to end up like too much hard work. I loved the idea of it but not the practicalities. It was also going to cost too much. I started waking up dreading it, so I then knew it wasn’t right.

I’m having a tent wedding in 2012. Our venue is an outdoor park and cost $200 to rent the grounds and Mansion. The tent prices I am getting are all over the place and I found that vendors are willing to drop the price once you tell them you are still looking and thinking about calling one of their competitors. (as it should be) $2000 for the tent, set up and tear down is the highest I have been quoted.

we are having a tent wedding at my parents farm may 2011. our 40×80 pole tent is around $1100, just including set up and the tent. since that was so pricey (to us) hopefully we can borrow tables and chairs from the church. OH..we got the pole tent because it has poles through the center which makes the tent sturdier than the alternative. we didn’t want a storm coming through and having the tent topple down on everyone!! 😛

we are limited to using LED lighted decorations–rules of the tent place–and will be using candles in votives to decorate also. we are definitely using christmas string lights for lighting, not sure what else at this point. i am using tall cylinder vases with willow branches and white tiger lillies as well. i think you can go either outdoorsy or elegant with a tent! good luck!
