Hi all! I was wondering who out there is having a tented reception and what you are doing to jazz the space up a bit. Also, has anyone ever had their reception at Highgrove in North Carolina?
I want to make sure it comes off as elegant and not kistchy! Do any of you have this problem with doing a tented reception?

We’re having a tented reception outside of Asheville in 4 weeks. We’re using lighting to give the tent a warm glow and hanging laterns and tissue pompoms from the ceiling of the tent to give it more visual interest. If you wanted a more elegant look I think the tent drapes and liners as well as a full floor can really make it seem more like a real room. If you like I can PM you some pictures of our tent after the wedding.

I agree with the tent liners…I wish I had had the budget to do full liners, but I did do pole drapes which I felt like made the space a little less “tent”. Instead of doing traditional fabric ties on the tent pole drapes I had my florist make little garland wreaths/cuffs which I felt like were a unique, organic touch!
