My Maid/Matron of Honor dress is terracotta from the Davids Bridal line, it is almost a light silvery bricky color not really bright and orangey like I thought, but we are going with it….the only problem I am having is I have no idea what color flowers to use now! I am trying to make tissue paper pomanders and so far bright pink and orange looks weird, bright pink looks weird, light pink and red looks weird….help please…..

If you could post a pic of the Maid/Matron of Honor dress that will probably help you get more responses.

Pale pink seems like it would work, in my mind. Maybe bairing it with brown? Or light yellow?

I wore a similar color dress, it was a rust-orangish color. We had orange, green and brown flowers including dahlias, orchids and other flowers – it was very pretty. Heres a pic of our bouquets

I would say that terracota would look great with a salmon color. The pictures above are great too!

I think ivory flowers with some darker green leaves would look good against the terracotta dress, especially if your dress will be ivory. Then you can carry the colored flowers like naangel55 posted, so it wont matter if the flower colors match the Maid/Matron of Honor dress exactly, but it will still make a good overall picture.

What about blue? Dark blue irises or purple/blue hydranga?

I would say white flowers would probably be your best bet – terra cotta is such an intense color, you don’t want the flowers to be competing!
BUT, if you want a colorful bouquet, my friend is using a deep purple (like an eggplant) with terra cotta as an accent color. They look great together!

did you see the thread about “mango calla lilies? they’d surely match…. buy you don’t have to match. you could go for chocolate-y blooms, too. or warm ivory, for that matter.

How about a warm yellow? That or you can never go wrong with ivory.

Hi! My Matron of Honor wore the exact same color (as it was one of our colors for the wedding) dress from DB. My flowers are seen here:

I’ll see if I can dig up some of my Maid/Matron of Honor.
